I bought this alkaline water generator from lapure water products in largo florida a few years ago. the machine works by inductively spinning the water in a positioned pitcher with a filter cartridge in its bottom. this is supposed to release minerals into the spinning water. the cartridge is supposed to be good for 100 hours. I did not use it much and in fact had only used 20 of the 100 hours in a two year period. I started using the machine again a few months ago. I decided to verify the increase in alkalinity at the local pool supply company. they told me that the ph was 8.0. I then used it for two months and had the PH checked again and it came out 7.6. turns out that the tap water in my house tested at 7.8. I paid around $300 for an alkaline machine that raised the ph only .2 the machine was made in Germany and i boughtb it from lapure water products in largo florida.
I called them and asked if having the filter around not being used would reduce its effectiveness nad they said no. i got another cartridge from them which they did not charge me for and that is when i found out that even a new cartridge raised the ph only very minutely and even less a couple of months later. the representative in germany, susanne rottrenberger, told me the machine was out of warranty. i told her all the machine does is twirl the water and it does that well. the fault is in the filter cartridge even when it is new. It increased the alkalinity from 100 to 120 and the ph only .2 or .4 This is not what I paid $300 for. you can buy alkaline water from many stores that have a Ph of 9.5 Ii wasted a lot of time running water through this worthless machine.
