After searching for a reading program for my son, I found Reading Buddy Software. I signed up for the one month trial membership for $79 minus the $78.50 coupon making the cost .50 for the first month. I set up my parent account and then never received the login information for my son to access the software.
I sent several requests, tried calling (phone disconnected) and even tried to cancel on the company website (refund page allows someone to type all the categories and then there is no way to submit that request). After being frustrated, I looked up reviews and found that several parents were in the same situation that I was in, paid and signed up but never received a way to use the program. These parents reviews said that the company was continuing to charge their credit cards even after they never received access and canceled.
I sent an email canceling and letting them know that I was not authorizing any charges on my card since I was never given the product/service requested. In December, the company charged my card for the full $79. I am disputing the charges and I am hoping that if I write this report, then no other parents will have to go through what I am doing now.
This is so disgraceful to take advantage of parents who are looking to help their kids learn to read better. I know my son was waiting for the program to start because he knows he reads below grade level and wanted to improve. I believe this company is intentionally advertising and selling a product that it has no intention of giving to the consumer. Please look into this company and make this situation right for the parents and kids.
