I attended a pitch session of RD Training Systems, LLC on September 13, 2023 at the Pacific Southwest Association of Realtors. At the end of the session the presenter/founder Mr. Richard Kurtz offered his system to the attendees. The training should include the 2 days live session, extensive training and educational materials and services, such as social media presence and many more. The cost of training was announced as $11,995 with a discount to participants of the pitch coming to $8,995.
Mr. Kurtz repeated a few times during the class that we could get a full refund within 90 days. I decided to start the program but could not pay 9k at once and asked for extended payments. Mr. Kurtz gladly approved, and I paid $3,000 using my husband's credit card. I signed the tuition agreement on 09/13/2023 in a hurry and was not able to read all materials or ask all questions.
I submitted all paperwork to the company, but never attended a live training or received any e-mails with educational materials. In a week after I paid, my father's health condition worsened (he's 97 and suffers from Parkinson disease). I will have to help him physically and financially much more than before.
I sent an email to Mr. Kurtz on 09/21/2023 (8 days after the payment was made, not 90) stating that I would like to cancel the program because I cannot attend any kind of training live or online because of my personal circumstances and would like my $3,000 to be refunded. Mr Kurtz refused to refund and offered to me either attend online or sell my place to someone else.
RD Training Systems, LLC did not train me in any way, never provided any proprietary information or materials to me. Mr. Kurtz said publicly during his pitch session that they are offering a full refund.
I received a call with no caller ID from a woman who did not give her name, but said she’s working for the RD Training Systems, LLC, who repeatedly told me that they are not going to refund my money, that they have an agreement signed by me and already spent money on preparation of the training in December. This lady also told me that I received a yellow copy of the agreement that I signed, but it wasn’t provided to me after signing, and I received it for the first time when I asked for the refund and received a letter from Mr. Kurtz. Mr. Kurtz was in a rush; he flashed this form in front of me asking me to sign. There was no credit card information. I gave it to him over the phone the next day. Obviously, I have not received a copy and have not seen that it said no refunds. I won’t sign it if I only saw it. The women who called me was very rude, yelled at me, constantly interrupted me and said at the end of our conversation that they won’t return my money. This woman also told me that the company only exists for 3 years, the brochure that Mr. Kurtz brought to the class states that they are founded since 1984. Mr. Kurtz said during his class that they are providing live training for 2 days, giving leads, doing websites and presence in different social media, and a lot of templates that would help with future work. (I wanted the social media and website updates more than other). However, the woman who called said that the only thing they are doing is this 2 days class. They are misleading people with every word.
I read several bad reviews of this company describing a similar situation with other agents.
Well where to begin all I can say is RUN!! As fast as you can. If I can give a 0 star that is exactly what this company is worth. It was a very high intensity sales pitch by Rick the owner. He had told me and many other agents out of my office this is a 100% refundable 90day refund if this doesn't work. Well lets start with that. LIE! It is not 100% its at best 50%. We were told this is normally a 8,000.00 program and we were getting a discount of 2k just for signing up right then and there. Come to find out others paid 4K and less.
I attended the event after much attempt to get out of my contract. What a complete waste of time I received the biggest binder and very redundant and out dated flyers. I was told that they would be giving us free internet leads, capture sights absolutely free. LIE! It's 90 days then you pay more money every month after that. The speakers were old and out dated as well. They have all been in real estate 30+ years and have been doing the same marketing leads since they started there was nothing new that I didn't already know. My 1st call with Rick he didn't answer he forgot he had a call with me I rearranged my whole schedule to have my appt with him I called the office and they said could he call me back in an hour or so?
I made the time why couldn't he I am NOT a baby sitter. He said that was a fluke not so much though as every time I call I get voicemails, emails get responded to days later. I filled out paper work for him about my self and my business to help tweak my business plan. LIE! I have never heard back on that. Myself and 3 other agents out of my office tried to get out to NO avail. I spoke with personally 30 agents at the event that were all dissatisfied, wanted a refund and tried to get out. I'm now trying to get the 50% back and still jumping thru hoops with them. I wish I never signed up this has been nothing but a head ache and major stress in my life. Please whatever you do DON'T sign up for RD training system and save your money.
If that's not enough for you I have spoke with the Realtor board association of Washington state and they have had so many complaints with Rick and RD training that they will never be let back in, As well as my corp office I have spoke with our CEO and he assured me as well that they will never be allowed back in any of his offices that are corp owned and privately owned.
I have been a Realtor fo over 20 years. I was excited to learn new innovated information. This seminar had some great promises and high recommendations. It has been a great dissappointment, and to top off my frustration, I realized the information presented is the same as a seminar I attended 23 years ago. The name of the seminar has changed and it is "repackaged" but it is the same information I heard 23 years ago with the same main presenter, Rand Smith.
I have asked for a refund and they are refusing so far. They have declaried that this seminar was not availble 20 years ago. Well, I am telling them it was and it is the same information I received years ago. I attended the seminar with a coworker who also attended a month ago. We agree the material is the same.
I want to warn you that it is not new and powerful tools. It is mostly repeatative information with a few good ideas. These ideas have stayed with me these 23 years. Paying the large amount of $5000 for a great product has not happened.
