When I bought this package about 3 years I was so excited. I would get $3,700 for cruises, hotels, resorts, Air fare even merchandise and pay back $200 per month.

For three years there has not been ONE vacation that this company would let me use my $3700 (it is now paid off).

This is what they do:

They quote you a Heavily discounted vacation price and let you use about 20-25% of your own money which they call "saving dollars".

RCI DEAL

For example, let me give you real information on a cruise deal they gave me.

Leaving New York to the Bahamas October 29th - November 5th, 2017

Oceanview 4 occupants in stateroom

Port charges and taxes $350 plus $427 for cruise = $777 per person I can only use $100 per person of my own money

Rip Off Artists

If I could give these guys at RCI TRAVEL a MINUS start rating that would be more accurate!.

These Scam Artists from RCI Travel called my husband and he signed up for their wonderful vacation package!!! Sure! They told him that they would finance $3,999 and give us a couple of cruises with any cruise line that we wanted and that we would have a week at an all inclusive resort, yatta, yatta, yatta. This is not my first rodeo, so when my husband told me about this magnificent deal he had signed up for on February 27, 2018, I got on our American Express and saw that they had charged the entire amount of $3,999 in one fell swoop. We were told that we would have 10 days to rescind, so on March 5, 2018 (today) I called RCI, gave the confirmation number and told them we wanted to cancel. I told them that we had already been charged the entire amount, which was a breech of the agreement already and I could only assume that it would get worse from there. I spoke with Robert Delgato who is a supervisor, 1-855-480-7670 ext. 69425.......after I spoke with Brit Stratton, who was his underling. Neither of these people can understand English! They just kept saying, you have not given us a reason to cancel. I told them that we just didn't want the deal and that we wanted to cancel, period! Finally after a fruitless, very rude conversation of about 15 minutes with Delgato ( sounds a little Mafioso), he disconnected me with no resolution. I promptly called our credit card company and disputed the amount and asked for a full refund. I am sure they will reverse the charges because of the timely resolution of this situation. (RCI stated to my husband that we would have 10 days to rescind......but they don't want you to rescind, believe me. There goes their commission.

May I just say, these people are scam artists. The vacations are substandard at best (yes, not my first rodeo) and the promises and extra money and extra this and extra that are just a scam. DON'T EVER SIGN UP WITH THESE GUYS. YOU WILL BE SADDLY DISAPPOINTED ALL THE WAY AROUND. MY HUSBAND IS A LITTLE MORE TRUSTING THAN I AM. GOOD THING HE HAS ME TO CLEAN UP A FEW MESSES.

RCI Packages- "Buyer Be Ware" Not Honest Brokers

ICE the corp administering the Packages are always unavailable. Tel # not working. Benefits agreed to were never honored. They Keep removing your password to access your account.

Is this company really involved with RCI now owned by Wyndam?

Their reputation is definitely suspect. I will not be using Wyndam or RCI for any future vacations. I suggest you all do the same.

Trying to figure out if there is a class action suit to join.

ALL OF US FOR CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT

I signed up in Nov 2018. I understood it was a cert for 2 and explained about 4 going and not having money to spend outside of payments being made for cert. The agent said that there are cruises that are little to no more to the port that I wanted. None of this is true. Another thing, it stated that cert for 2 with a min of interior cabin with upgrades avail. NO! The cheapest and only cruises avail for me is charging for interior cabin too! I didn’t want to lose the money that I already paid so I thought I may try to book the cruise for 4 with ocean view for over $1600 more. Booking agent held it for me, so I thought. I called to book and it was cancelled. Oops they said, gonna cost more now. Btw, if you have been through this, they act and treat you like you should have known how they are supposed to do their job, smh. You should have known how everything works...turns everything around to make it look like it’s your fault. I have been through SO MUCH crap in the last several months. My anxiety is through the roof! Do I cancel and lose $650 or pay a lot more and pray that I even get the vacation? I wanted to take my kids because we rarely go on vacation and never cruises but I doubt that I can do it. I’m frustrated, angry and sad. Would a class action law suit stop this from happening? Also, it would be a good idea to record every call because they will only let you hear the agreement call. Is there anyone on here that knows the law or how to stop this from happening?

SCAM SCAM

I too received a call promising cruises, free week in the Caribbean, $700 bonus to spend. It sounded too good to be true. I didn’t fall for their scam. I am so glad I read the reviews.

They should be prosecuted for disinformation. Shame on you RCI. I am not renewing my membership.

So glad I didn’t take the offer.

In Jan. of 2014 my wife and I received a call from RCI with a special promotion for a Cruise Vacation. Since we had never been on a cruise, we decided to listen to their offer. Our Vacation Consultant was Lisa Pace. Our Cruise ID #. CRBK2127805. We explained to Lisa that we had never been on a cruise before. She told us some of her cruise experiences, and told us that we would have a wonderful time being our first time. She explained some of the different cruise. Eastern, Western etc. She had us to go on the RCI web site and have a look at all the cruises available. My wife and I choose Eastern Caribbean 7 nights. Our destination was flying to Fort Lauderdale then we would sail to San Juan, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten. Our sailing date Nov. 19, 2017 to Nov. 26, 2017. She explained about getting Travel Insurance to protect our investment. Since our sailing date was so far in advance anything can happen and we would be covered. In Jan. of 2014 our first payment was $199. Then on April 10, 2014 they took $225.56. Then on March 7, 2016 they took $500.00 for the Celebrity Cruises Line, On Sept. 22, 2014 they took $292.99 for QVC Travel Insurance and on March 25, 2016 they took $299 for Travel Insurance again, and the name changed to CSA Travel Protect. Our monthly installments were $117.33. On Jan. 22, 2015 the final payment of $117.33 was made totaling $1855.67 for a cruise certificate. On Aug. 31, 2017, my wife’s birthday, they took another final payment of $1056.67 they say went to the cruise line.

Oct. 2 2017 I phoned RCI Travel and spoke with Chris to find out the cancellation procedures. Talking with him it just seems like the news just keeps getting worst as he tells us that we can’t cancel without being penalized. The cruise line sent out a change of itinerary to you to accommodate you because of the storm going elsewhere. They have the right to change the itinerary when things like that happens. I ask but that’s not what we paid for! We paid to go to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, San Juan. He says if we have insurance we will have to talk to them, and if the insurance is denied we will lose our certificate that we paid RCI $1800 for. The insurance was denied so RCI kept our money.

They call you on the phone and tell you that you will get all these travel discounts. They give you $500 to use toward hotels, wine, and merchanise. They lead you to believe that these are real dollars but they are not, they give you discounts and you have to pay the difference. We also were encouraged to buy a cruise package.

We put down $320.00 and they were taking $120.00 a month out of our credit card. When we realized that our money would be turned into savings dollars and could not be used as real dollars, we called to cancel the cruise package. They refused to cancel it and give us all of our money back. We lost $449.00 to get out of this contract. Don't get caught in this scam!!!!

We were robbed

My husband and I trusted these people because they were RCI. We paid $2000 for the privilege of being able to use approx. 11 - 30% of our own money to book a hotel. This "package" was explained totally different than what it actually was. Being quite upset, I called and was patronized like I was a dummy, not the victim of scam artists. So, I ask to have the rules mailed to me, only to be told they don't do that, that there are no written rules. REALLY?? How can a business not have written rules to a contract?

Stay far away from these lying thieves! RCI lost my trust and their credibility. Hope the amount of money they made stealing and scamming customers was worth their name.

Through the eye of a needle!

Although I did not try to cancel my contract with RCI Travel, I also have been finding that I paid $3000.00 for the luxury of being able to book a four day upgraded cruise for over $1800.00 dollars more. Consider, RCI claims that only a "small" % of the original payment is credited towards this type of trip. Although NCL is offering deals that compare or cheaper.. I paid for the luxury of utilizing a RCI agent that was again paid another $25.00 to make the reservation plus room upgrade and soft drink package and payments for free upgrades?? WTF!

...now trying to use the "land" package that is another who knows what % of the original 3 thousand bought is the best slight of hand I have been scammed from!

PERIOD!

Avoid dealing with this company

We booked and did get the cruise we wanted but no accommodations for the week before or after. I bought because it will be our 50th wedding anniversary and their scam has somewhat spoiled that. I certainly would never buy another package from them. Cost me $4299.00 and I will maybe use $3000.00. No special here !!!

Not all it's cracked up to be

I've purchased more than one package from RCI--silly me! I guess because the first experience was incredible, I just assumed each subsequent experience would be the same. Alas, I was fooled. In January 2018, I was contacted by Ryan Angle and he talked a good game and his selling point was the HE would be the sole contact for me, that anything I needed regarding my package, HE would be my "agent." I succumbed and purchased a apackage. Well, lo and behold, when I try to reachg him, he is no longer at the number...and when I track him down within RCI, he won't speak with me; he tells the operator with whom I'm conversing to forward me to another salesperson. Granted, I understand a person can be promoted to a different level and no longer handle accounts, BUT....wouldn't you think that an "account manager" would notify all of his accounts that he was no longer "the" person and tell you who your new account manager is? The reason I was swayed to purchase this package was because he "guaranteed" I'd only be talking with him instead of a new person every time I called. Once I use all my remaining certificates on this package, I'm done. I'm tired of trying to track down someone who can talk intelligently about my package/certificates...and I'm tired of speaking with a different person each time.

Buyer Beware

As a member of RCI Timeshare Exchange company since 1996, when I was transferred to RCI Travel for a Travel Package by a agent of RCI I felt I was doing business with a honest arm of RCI Exchange. At the time of purchase, June 2018, I was told I was purchasing a Cruise Certificate and a Week Resort Certificate which values were over $2500.00. Now that I have booked the cruise, the Certicate value was for an inside cabin valued at around $800. Today, I tried to book the Resort Week but the UPCHARGE was around $600. The Agent stated that my contract with them was old and had been discontinued. That it would be best if I purchase a new TRAVEL PACKAGE at a price of $2800.00 and get $600 in which they lead you to believe these are real dollars but they are % discount on travel products. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE - I GOT BURN.

I purchased an RCI travel package cost $1999 (with a $199 deposit and $100 monthly payment of $100 for 18 months and was told that I had 3 years to use the certificates). With each travel package, you get a seven-day cruise for 2 and 1week stay at a resort for 2 people. Unfortunately, I missed the reservation cut off by 1 day to make the reservations/redeem the certificates (even though I was told that the certicates were good until April 27, 2019) and now RCI or ICE wants me to pay an additional $1300 to upgrade or $599 per cruise certificate and $399 for a resort certificate to extend them for another 6 months!

THIS is ourageous as I have already paid for 3 certificates that I no longer can use and RCI wants me to pay more money!!! RCI travel will not refund your money plus if you do not use the packages within two years you lose the certificate. RCI did offer to buy back the resort package $1300 each but they make you buy another package for $3400.

Plus it is not a refund it is money that they hold onto that you can use for hotel or airfare. When you do go to use the certificate they tax on a fees. They advertise it as a free seven week resort but it’s not. I want to inform people to watch out for the RCI travel packages. RCI travel packages take your money. You do not get the benefit that they claim.

I was transferred to several different departments in several US & international location and finally, the unhelpful, unfriendly RCI Cruise Centertificat customer service rep Jose Garcia from Mexico City was unable to track my recent calls or my original calls back in Oct 2017 so it's basically my words against theirs. So infuriating and is this even legal in the state of California to buy certificates that you can't use since there's a law that states gift certificates bought cannot be expired?

Worthless

I thought this was part of the actual RCI and it's not. Worst people to deal with ever. Don't return emails don't answer the phone and are not getting you the best deal on a cruise. With the Covid-19 the cruise we did book was canceled and they just reissued the certificate back with NO extra time to try and use it. Trying to talk to someone and have been on hold for 3 hrs. Tried a couple of other times and you sit on hold for hours then they hangup.

As I am tying this they finally answered and told me I had the wrong department I will transfer you and back on hold.

Do NOT purchase from RIC travel packages

We purchased the travel packages which consist of an one week resort stay, a week cruise and a bonus week for a cruise or resort stay. I purchased one of these packages several years ago and things went pretty smoothly. This time, we kind of forgot about it because we were out of town. However, I had different messages on my phone and every time I call and leave messages no one ever returns my phone calls. They claim that I haven't contacted their company, but they are unable to track my calls, so it's basically my words against theirs. I finally booked a resort stay with one of the representatives. I am trying to book my cruise and now I am informed it will cost $599, ( after I was told it was $199), to activate the cruise certificate. Oh, you have to pay up front before anyone will tell you if you can get a cruise when you want. I talked to a supervisor who was worthless. Do not ever purchased any travel packages from RCI travel packages.

Scam Artists.

I would be kind if I gave them even one star. They sold us a travel package in Nov. of 2018. We were given in writing a 2 year window to use the money portion and cruise and resort portion. When we went to book our first cruise in May of 2019 we were informed that our money portion of 15 hundred dollars had expired because it was only good for 6 months. When we sent them the documentation showing otherwise they said that I would need to talk to the person who sold us the package, The problem is she won't return our calls and they won't honor the contract that she made with us. We are being stonewalled and no one there wants to do anything about it. We are out a good portion of money and we would love to take them to court to get it back but at what cost. They are real con artists and I would suggest that you never purchase anything from them. Lots of promises to get you to buy the package but no interest in honoring their commitment to their customers. The person who sold us the package is Melia and as of this writing is Missing in action and they cannot do anything till she contacts us. What a great company that is. Thanks for nothing and I will make it my mission to warn anyone thinking of purchasing from you to run away as fast as you can.

I wish that I would have read these before I wasted my money. I have experienced the exact same scam as all of the complaints listed above...$199 down, $150/ per month for 18 months. The package they described innthe sales alcarel was wonderful but doent exist! When I complained and tried to get assistance, I would be transferred again and again, put on hold for over an hour and then disconnected, again and again. Utter frustration! Now, they tell me that my "certificate" has expired.

I wish there was a class action lawsuit to join against this company!

Do not buy a package

Bought the package for 3999.00 From Natasha (And her supervisor Stephanie) with the understanding we could go on a specific cruise to Alaska. Even before buying the package we told them the cruise line and actual cruise we wanted to go on and the date of departure. When we went to book the cruise we were told we could not book this cruise without paying an additional 3200.00! We explained what Natasha and Stephanie had approved. The cruise consultant stated she would call Natasha and Stephanie and then get back to me.. She never did call back. Attempted to call Natasha and Stephanie for refund on package..never received call back. Then received bill for cruise (3200.00) . Canceling the cruise cost us 500.00 and once 10 days has lapsed since paying the 3999.00 you can not get a refund!!! They lie and make promises......they are deceitful! Do not buy a package!

They are not providing what we were promised. They give me websites, but no information about how to redeem my cruise, and or. Resort, stay. I am paying 200.00 a month out of my account i asked to cancel early on, but they had already taken more than 1,000.00 from me and told me it wouldn't be refundable. I am very disappointed in this company

This isthe worst scam i have ever gotten into !!!!!!! do not let yourself get involved with this scam !!! i purchased the rci travel package with the understanding that i would be given a cruise and a 7 day resort vacation. We did take those. I paid them $3999.00 and this is known as savings dollars to be used on reduced prices for car rentals, hotels or merchandise. They never mention that it isn't the reduced rate for a hotel for instance that you pay out of the savings dollars, it may be only 12 % of the reduced price and you pay the balance out of your pocket. As an example of gift cards, a $50.00 gift card is reduced by $4.00 and you pay the rest out of your pocket. My understanding was that the difference of the cost $46.00 would come out of the savings dollars. I have $3980.00 in savings dollars and there is no way of buying enough merchandise, wine, hotels or gift cards with the social security i live on. I was supposed to spend all of the savings dollars in one year but was able to get the time extended, still an impossible thing to do. Their contact number is 800-571-4020. Is there any way of getting out of this without losing all of my money ? It is like they are holding my money hostage. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cruise to Alaska and more

We purchased a cruise package in 2018 and were able to book cruises to the Caribbean for four adults (2 cabins total) and we also went to Vegas for a week and stayed at a RCI condo. Then last month we went to Alaska on a cruise for four adults (2 cabins total) and we were upgraded. I have been very happy with our packages and we just purchased another one and plan to go to Hawaii and do one week on land and 10 days on a cruise. I'm not sure why everyone is calling this a scam.
