If you are a graphic design or web development company you should take note of this hoax. Ray Benson ( I am sure this is not his real name) is a West African man with a heavy French African accent. He calls to ask for a website to be done for him and he says his budget is $3000- $8000. So you give a quote and he accepts it and offers to pay a deposit, whatever you say he will accept. Then he says that he has a graphic design friend who has done all his graphics and logos and text and he will supply all that you need as a website developer. Oh but one thing is he can only pay via credit card, and another thing his garphic designer does not accept credit cards so he wants to pay an additional amount of $2000 on top of the deposit and please you must just send to the graphic designer the $2000 for the graphic work and then he will send you the logos etc and you make the website. The balance will be paid by credit card when the website is complete.
See anything wrong here? Once you have sent his "graphic designer" the $2000 he will charge back the full amount with some story to the bank and as you have no credit card signed authorization form all the monies paid will be taken back by the bank and you will be out of pocket by $2000.
