Josh Henwood/Ravage Construction, came to my home to pour cement concrete for a patio extension. Josh is the son of a friend that I work with. Josh came out and gave an estimate of $3,000.00 for a 10x40 slab. Josh indicated that he would write up a contract and bring it with him on his next visit. I started this process with Josh in February 2017, and he did not return on until April 3, 2017. I wrote him a check for $3,000.00 in full, as I know his mother and trusted him. It took nearly 3 weeks for Josh to return, only after 100's of text messages back and forth, in which every time he stated he would come to my house to start the job, he never showed up. When he finall showed up, he came with his wife Susan Henwood, his brother and his son. I was to have tinted and stamped concrete installed, in a pattern that both Josh and I picked out together, and sent pictures back and forth via text messaging. The cement that was poured, was gray, and was not tinted, and it was not stamped to look like pavers. It took them almost 8 hours to finish, and during the process, I asked when they were going to tint the concrete and stamp it!?
The concrete was poured incorrectly, as it is sloped towards the house, and all the water runs and pools against the house.
It was not tinted or stamped, and one side of my vinal fencing was damaged as they poured the concrete right up to the bottom. They also damaged the gutter drain, as they poured over the hole in the ground that it connects to, causing all rain water to run down the gutter drain, and all land on the concrete. I expressed my concerns to Josh, and he promised me that he would fix everything. After several weeks of texting him, he finally came to the house, saw how bad it was, and indicated to me that it all had to be jack hammered out, and re poured, which he would do at no cost to me. He promised that he would do the best job possible. He called the concrete company, and told them he needed a jack hammer and was on his way to get it. He left and never returned. I texted him repeatedly that I wanted my money back as I did not get what I paid for, and that I would go with another company to come in and take care of his poor job. Every time he said he would be at my house, he never showed up.
I finally looked him up, and found that his Company was working under a revoked license, and is currently under a revoked license, yet he is still working his business along with another business for plumbing. I also found out that he and his wife Susan Henwood, started this Company in Utah, and had both been sued multiple times for fraud, and being rip off and con artists, just taking money from people and never returning to finish a job. I currently have reported Ravage Construction/Joshua Henwood to AROC, and have received word that he is currently unlicensed, and a full investigation has started. I have also made an appointment with an Attorney, as I intend to sue Ravage Construction, Joshua Peter Henwood and Susan Henwood, for all damages to my home, and for the total cost that it will cost me, to have my yard done correctly.
I am in a new build home, and have only lived in it for 6 months, and now have major damage to repair, and concrete to take out and have it re done. Joshua Henwood is a dispicaple person, one with no conscience, and doesn't care who he hurts or takes advantage of. I certainly hope that the AROC is able to find him, and take legal action against him as well.
