RankTracker is a web-based SEO platform that sells monthly subscriptions to access the tool.
I purchased a life-time-deal from RankTracker through a marketplace called AppSumo. This is one of several marketplaces where startups usually agree to sell lifetime subscriptions as a way to raise funds. RankTracker unilaterally change the access of those early backers so that none of us could access our dashboard but instead land on an offer page with subscriptions. Therefore, the only way to advance to the dashboard was by buying one of the several subscriptions. However, we had purchased lifetime access to the platform and should have never been blocked from access.
I found out on March 1st and on that same day, I emailed RankTracker and they requested my activation key at the time of purchase. I also notified AppSumo who also sent them an email confirming my purchase and activation key. We emailed several times asking for an update and they asked us to, again and again, provide the activation key. The irony is that as an excuse for their delay, they said that as per the service agreement with AppSumo they have 14 business days to resolve issues. This makes no sense because, in the meantime, they continue to sell subscriptions to new "victims" while denying access to those who paid for lifetime subscriptions and trying to distract them by asking for the activation key over and over. It is totally unacceptable that after they have locked paying customers out of their accounts, this is something that requires immediate attention. In 14 days, you can miss business opportunities and suffer losses as a result or even go out of business. I share my experience on another site and RankTracker decided to permanently cancel my account due to my bad review because according to them is part of their Terms and conditions. No company has the right to silence customers from sharing their experiences whether they are positive or negative as long as they are truthful.
I really want to warn others to stay away from this company, if you are an entrepreneur looking at SEO platforms or a company looking to implement an SEO tool, or an investor considering backing them up, you are better off doing business with a reputable company that will respond to your needs fast and RankTracker if not that company.
For the record, I seldom write reviews, but in this case, I do not want others to fall victim of Ranktracker's scam and unscrupulous practices.
