Snakes and Liars - Turnover is bad - You're paying for nothing
It's all hype and they promise you the world. It is like pulling teeth to get anything done. They don't answer or return your calls but make sure they charge you on time. Once you give them 30 day notice to trash them, they tell you they've received your notice and they charge you the following month again anyways saying you did not do the notice properly. I disputed the charge and won. Don't believe these snakes.
I started up with this company earler this year. A sales representative contacted me about my small entertainment blog and explained they were a digital marketing company. The rep explained the company could increase my page views, by assisting me with SEO (search engine optimization), and have their writers write content on my site that would be SEO friendly. I was intersted, excited and agreed.
When I hired them on, I had just graduated college and was still freelancing as a writer and social media marketer. Since they are in LA and also do digital marketing I thought I would reach out to them to see if they were looking for account coordinators. When they got back to me they said they were looking for writers. I agreed to come in for an interview to start working for them as a writer. Before my first interview I decided I didn't want it to be come a conflict of interest and I would decline the offer.
Neil from Rank Sharks got in touch with me and addressed my concerns. He said there would be no conflict of interest and my account would be treated the same as other clients. He even said my account would have his own personal attention and he was able to grow a blog from online platforms to offline event marketing professionals. That was complete smoke and mirrors to get me to come on as a writer.
As soon as I started writing for them, I noticed my account was not given the same attention as others. Even though I was promised writers contributing one article a month for my site I received zero contribution. They meagerly posted on my social media channels, which as a marketer is something I could do myself. I saw zero value in what I paid for.
In addition to thier lackluster attention to my account, I started to realize I was only being paid $6.50 per hour for my writing contribution. I knew this was not worth my time and I told them I could not continue on as a writer. Neil feigned understanding and told me he would forward a report for their services on KingstontoLA.
I did not receive that report. Even though I felt they didn't deliver on what was promised I have pursued getting a report from them to see what was done for the money I spent. After months of reaching out to Neil and most recently Jessica at Rank Sharks neither of them have bothered to return my emails or provide a report.
So in my opinion there was a conflict of interest. After I became an indpendent contractor for them, they completely disregarded my business and dropped the ball on my account. I have received no report, no response and no value from their service. They hustle several online businesses to create volume, but do not provide value through their marketing tactics. It is all about the money for them and they don't give thier accounts valuable attention.
It was truly a disappoiniting experience and I would warn anyone thinking of signing up with them to find an independent, relaible SEO professional.
