In October 2021, I was visiting my sister's home in Sarasota, Fl, when I arrived to see a flat tire on my Nissan Versa. My sister recommended me Rainbow Roadside and I decided to call the company for help. While speaking to an RR operator on the phone she asked for my debit card information, which I gladly gave her.
The repairman arrived in 45 minutes and fixed my tire pretty fast. I don't know the guy's name but I remember his physical appearance (tall white man blond or dark blonde hair with a big built). He was respectful and cool the whole time.
When he finished he tried processing the payment on his phone but it wasn't working on his end. I didn't want the repairman to continue waiting outside under the hot sun, so I grabbed $75 from inside the home. In fact, my sister luckily lended me a few bills because I had only $40 or $50 in my purse.
I gave him the cash and he went on his way. I thought everything was done. However, days later I see that my debit card transaction went through, along with the online receipt. I was not supposed to be charged double when I had already paid the repairman in person with cash.
Immediately I contact the Facebook page for the company and submit a contact form on their website about my refund situation. The woman I had spoke to on Facebook Messenger said the matter would be fixed. Great! She even said that the repairman wasn't supposed to receive and hold cash for the transaction when I had already gave my card information to the operator. I felt heard at that moment.
But weeks went by and nothing happened. No refund in my bank account. I recontact the women from FB, she gives me a phone number to speak with the vice president Chris (I have the screenshots of her messages by the way).
I texted Chris about my problem and he didn't engage much with me. That's when I contacted my bank informing them the situation. During this time, someone by the name of Andrew (I think that was his name) left a voicemail apologizing for the matter and said that the company will get on it.
The refund came through shortly after. I thought everything was over and I could move on. January 2022, a bank notice comes in the mail saying that they had to remove the refund because I didn't provide documents for proof; I infact did submit the online receipt.
I don't know what to do at this point. I left a Google review to get Rainbow's attention again. A few days ago the owner replied (it's now May 2022) and said there was nothing they can do.
At the time when I called RR to help with the flat tire, I was an UberEats driver. My car was essentially my main fuel line for work. I'm just bothered that a repairman was allowed to hold onto my money --when he wasn't supposed to in the first place, according to the woman I chatted with on Facebook and the phone-- and probably wasn't questioned by the company.
I'm not some mean spirited Karen seeking trouble, causing unnecessary fuss. I'm just a kind young woman who doesn't like being in conflict, but when I feel ripped off by a company, I'm going to make a big statement.
I deserve my money back. I have respectfully tried to work with RR and my bank without making it into a huge hassle. If nothing comes out of this situation, at least people can read my review and decide if they want to do business with Rainbow Roadside.

That's my experience.
