I went to RaceTrac to get some gas. I paid at the pump using my debit card and it immediately told me "insufficient funds." I thought, "that's odd, I just got paid there's no way I don't have money." Turns out, I check my account and it says a pending amount of $75.00. I walked away from this store with nothing and it put my account on hold. It makes no sense to me and it's been on hold for the last 2 days.
Went to ractrac for gas with my teenage daughter. She used her reloaded Visa card which money is put on for gas and snacks for school. Was told by manager that her card had insufficient funds. Which her balance was $78.42 they took that total amount off the card without her getting gas, due to a $99.00 hold on the card. How can you put a hold and withdrawn money when the service is not provide? So i used my bankcard as a debit and there was no hold on mine at the same pump 18. I put $15.02 in her car and that is all that was taking with no pending hold. Now she has to wait until 9-22 to get her funds back as a dispute between the card and racetrac because she used her pin number to release her funds. If a pin number is used the money is w/d that same day. No holds should appy....now is credit is used i can understand the hold!!! Double standers apply and that is fraudulent to me and is my opinion.
I come in and buy 3 packs of Marlboro Special Blend a couple times per week. I always pay with a $20.00 bill. The cost is $15.39, sometimes I have the change, sometimes not. Sunday morning I made my purchase, gave the coins of $0.40 and a twenty dollar bill, said keep the penny. In a bit of an early morning fog, I started walking out without the $5.00 change. I barely got out the door and came back, there were no other customers that had transacted anything. I ask for my $5.00 change and was told I paid with $16.00 and the cashier produced some receipt that said I did. Now, I'm not stupid, senile, slow or dim-witted. I left my home that morning with 2, $20.00 bills. I paid for the cigarettes with one of them, period then end. Now when I ask for my change the two people there stating putting money in the safe, from the drawer, while the other started counting, and of course...their drawer was "right on." I've been ripped off for $5.00. It's just stupid the way they handled it all.
