On saturday august 20, 2016 I stopped at a Sunoco station and purchased 18.1 gallons of unleaded gas at a cost of 38.00. The following morning my check engine light came on. I sceduled an appointment for the following morning because the vehicle was still under warranty. The dealer informed me that the tank was full of E85 fuel. The repair on the vehicle was 503.05 the drain all the fuel and lines and repair some sensors.
I contacted Sunoco and they tell me that is independently owened and operated and they tell me to contact them.
I contacted Ranjit Singh at R & R Takhar Oil and he tells me that Sunoco has inspected their tanks and found no issues, and that tyhey don't even sell E85 fuel.
I still have a repair bill of $503.05 to drain E85 out of my fuel tank and I had just filled my tank at that station.
In talking to another source the owners of that station have been known to substitute regular gas for premium gas!
