I was Locked out of my apartment but luckily had my cell phone. I looked up the "quickest and best prices" for a locksmith. They had a 5 star rating. So I called them. They advertised on line as a $15.00 service fee, $35.00 lock change.

When the serviceman got here, everything changed. It would be $132.00 for trying this tool, $162.00 for trying another tool and if that doesn't work $200.00. !! I should have stopped there but I had no idea what prices cost for this?

I was desperate to get into my home as I had work to do so I said go ahead and try. Almost 45 minutes later he was able to get the lock open. It was just a simple Schlag lock, not a dead bolt. He had to use a drill to open up, but he didn't even have a mini vacuum to clean up all the dangerous metal pieces he left in the hallway. I was the one who cleaned it up.

Next, was the new charge of $80.00 for the new lock. When he wrote up the total price for $321.00 I was completely shocked! What a ripoff!! I asked for his manager's name, the name of the owner, his business card....of which he had none.

He gave me the name of a man(Tom) to call but as soon as I wanted to dispute the price he said the owner would call me right back...of course he did not. I called this man(Tom) back and he would Not answer his phone now.

Then I looked at the invoice before the repair man left and I asked for their address...nothing is printed on the form. No Name of the business (it's a regular form you buy from Staples that says Locksmith 24-7 Services)..there is not a name of the company on the invoice! or address?

Then I called the number on the internet which is a 800 number and asked to speak with the owner. I asked for their address and email. They said they were Not allowed to give out this information? What company runs a business this way?

They were completely unhelpful and said that's what it costs and I have no recourse.

I called my landlord to tell him what happened and ask how much it cost to change the locks a few months ago when there was a flood in my apartment, while I was out of town. It cost him $35.00! He was extremely upset, as well, about this company. He knew it was a ripoff as well. He told me to report it to my credit card company and BBB. They don't even come up on the BBB to report them!

I am reporting this because this business is a SCAM and I don't want anyone else to be Violated the way I feel right now.

$321.00 is a lot of money to me and I would have NEVER paid that much if thet told me what is was going to be. They hook you in, take your locks off your door and Then you are held captive to pay. And ask for Cash...who has that kind of cash these days? Also, remember the guy did not even clean up his mess: the metal shards all over the common hallway....for $321.00 you don't clean up your mess. This is a basic part of a service call...to clean up after yourself!

They did the same thing to me

Terrible Customers Service and bad business pricing practices. Misquoting.

A Lock to a door in my office was locked by a student. I looked up the "quickest and best prices" for a locksmith. They had a 5 star rating. So I called them. They advertised on line as a $15.00 service fee, $35.00 to unlock the door.

The issue began with them dispatching out three different locksmiths. One in which was veryrude.

When the serviceman got here, everything changed. It would be $175.00 for drilling my lock open, I told him I did not want the service so I will only pay the 15 dollar service fee and I will check else where! He would not leave my office and began to call his boss.He then told me he can do the job for 85 dollars total. I agreed.

15 minutes later he was able to get the lock open by drilling. It was just a simple office lock, not a dead bolt. He had to use a drill to open up, but he didn't even have a mini vacuum to clean up all the dangerous metal pieces he left on the floor.I took an image of it. I was the one who cleaned it up.

After he was done He said I owed 100 then changed it to 109 when I have him my card.

I call the company to tell them what happened and they did nothing but said they would call the police if I did not pay. Later, I looked on line on reviews for them and saw many complaints. please stop this company from ripping off others and misquoting.

The advertisement on there site is misleading and they have poor business practices.

I am the Maintenance Director of a large Senior Living community. I was called by the night staff that the front foor lock had come apart. I didn't know by their description over the phone if the lock was broke, missing parts or what so I called 2 of my locksmith contacts. After no/delayed responce I searched online and found 24/7 Quick Pick Locksmith Service. The website said it was a $15 service call and gave basic rates of $35 for a variety of services, I called, told them my problem, they said a tech would call me right back. Sure enough less than 10 minute I was called by Daniel. He said he could meet me at the property in 15 minutes. When he arived he said the service call was $20 and the base labor fee was $45. I didn't argue that the $25 web price was now $20 and the $45 seemed overall reasonable, I said ok after all it looked like all the parts were all there, and nothing broken. Daniel proceded to work on the lock as I watched I thought it was straing that he kept moving in front of what he was doing to block my view. I moved, he moved. Not just once but several times, OK so he has secrets to protect. After fumbling with the lock cylinder trying to realign it with the latch bolt mechanism he proceded to use a vice grip to hold the thumb latch and the trim ring. He gauld the finish of the black trim gouging it in several places so the silver metal shows and now looks like an old pop top bottle cap. After he finished, less than 15 minuted, he produced the bill stating that he charges $49 to realign the schlage lock set. I thought ok, $49 instead of $45...Nooooo, on top of. So the final bill was $114, High for what he did, low for an after hour locksnith service call. I don't begrudge what he charged Just how he charged. I made a point to let him know. I would have kept him on my vendor list for this property and others, but because of the decieving practice of how he priced the job, I will not!. Buyer beware.

I don't normally write reviews but this company absolutely needs to be stopped and run out of business.

My wife called for a locksmith because we locked our keys in the house. We were quoted a $15.00 service fee and told the fee for opening the door started at $35.00. They contacted the locksmith and he called us 15 minutes later. My wife put him on the spot about the fee starting at $35.00 and told him she was not going to wait for him to come out before knowing the price. She told him it was our front door lock and he quoted her a total of $50.00 ($15.00 for the service and $35.00 for the unlocking of the door).

Since he quoted a hard price and said he could be to our home in 30 minutes, my wife canceled another company that was ging t take a little bit longer. The Quick Locksmith 247 called back 4 times and kept postponing his arrival, turning his 30 minute arrival time to almost 2 hours. By the way, my wife had just come home from surgery and was in a bad way so I was in a bit of a hury to get he inside and get her medication.

When the locksmith (thug) finally arrived his method of opening my front door was to take a 14" flat head screwdriver and jam it between my door and doorjam releasing the latch, tearing the weatherstripping and denting the wood.Mind you, this took all of 60 seconds from the time he exited his car to the time he was finished. This is something I could have done but I didn't want to damage anything like he did. Unfortunately it was dark and I didn't see the damage until after he left.

60 seconds later he bills me $105.00 ($15.00 service fee and a $90.00 unlock fee). More than double what he quoted my wife. I asked him what the $55.00 increase was for. He said thats what we charge. When I asked him what he would have done for the $35.00 unlock fee and he could not give me an answer. He just kept repeating their fees start at $35.00 but he couldn't give me an example of a lock or method of unlocking a door for that price. After all, what could honestly be faster than ounching a door lock with a screwdriver.

I called their office and spoke to two people. They refuse to let you speak to a manager. They argue and talk over you. When I ask them what type of lock and method of unlocking they will do for the $35.00 they quote, they could not answer either. That's when they start getting rude and just start talking over you. By the way, the guy they sent to my house was about a 290 pound straight out of prison looking gangster.

"Beware." This is an organized Bait & Switch scam and very unethical business.

My keys were in my clothes when they were stolen from the the locker at the gym at 24 hr Fitness on N. Capitol, San Jose. So I had to get my door locks changed for a peace of mind. The door locks were in good condition, and I saw this re-key option that only cost $19 bucks online, and verified when called, so I thought I got a deal so easily by googling it, as it was the first ad I saw on the webpage. Well, when the technician arrived, he just unscrewed my door locks without first telling me the actually cost but said it's the same cost to change a lock as well as the rekeying service anyway. So I thought, oh wow, 19 bucks for a new lock? What a deal!

Then while he was putting in the new locks and the dead bolt which came out in a set, he asked me to pull up a website on my cell phone called boldlocksupply.com, which showed the cheapest locks being $280. My goodness, these locks are just really simple ordinary ones, that probably would only cost no more than 50 bucks at Homedepot, that must be a fake website too, because it only carried no more than 10 products to choose from on the page, and as I said $280 was the cheapest one? Crazy, I could get some PIN code electronic locks with that price! So I just realized that this is a scam, I immediately said I can't afford this, I thought the rekeying of one door lock and the deadbolt for 19 each, plus the 15 service call, and maybe a labor fee of 50 (as it took him less than 10 minutes), my budget was around 100. Don't you have any cheaper locks?

He said that's the lowest price they carry as you can see on the website, he then offered me a today only special for 250. I said no, I can't afford, what you gonna do now with my door locks already taken off now? He said, ok, let's do this, if I pay cash, he gives me a 10% further discount for 225. Still, I really can't pay that much, I said the most I can come up is 200. Then he quickly agreed that, ok, I saw your mom there, if the headquarter calls to verify the job satisfatory survey, just say you have a senior here, so $199 is your new senior price. Anyway, without my consent, he has already taken off the old locks, and finished the job even before we reached the $199 done deal (which I still think it's a rip off at this price).

I'm writing to inform shoppers for locksmith keeping away from this company, because it's so visible that it popped up first on the AD when Google. And even if you called and they showed up, do not allow them to touch, or even "let me unscrew it to check what kind of lock do you have", before reaching an agreement on the product and total cost. Otherwise, you'd be stuck like me, when the lock is taken off and I can't even put it back myself if sending him away. Estimate is not an enough price quote over the phone, this company is a total scam: 24/7 QUICK PICK LOCKSMITH SERVICES, (888) 300-0605. http://quicklocksmith247.com. Be aware!!!

Website advertises help will arrive in 10-15 minutes and cost would be $19 + $35 with possible fluctuations based on "complications."

Technician arrived late (30+ minutes) and used a piece of locksmith plastic and WD-40 to open the front door of my house within 60 seconds. Then proceeded to charge me $163 with no explanation.

I called in to speak with Chris who stated all the extra fees were due to the equipment he used and were completely valid. After a quick search and calling around, you can easily find the plastic for $8-$20 and a can of WD-40 is $5.

I called back to speak with a lady and asked why I was charged so much and don't try and tell me "equipment" as the costs are well below that. She asked why exactly I was calling back, unconcerned with my issue. I asked to speak with a manager and was told there was none as business hours were past (it's 3:00pm). I asked when he/she would be in and what their name was and got a simple "morning" and "I don't know."

Absolutely insane price gouging with zero reason. Unfortunately when you're in this type of situation there's not much you can do.

Website lies

Yesterday I got locked out of my house. I went online on my phone and saw on their website that it would be $19 for a service fee and that for a residential lockout it started at $35 so altogether about $50. When the guy got here I thought he said it would be $101 for him to pick it and it would be more if he couldn't get it and had to drill and that would ruin the lock. I told him that was a lot higher then their website and he said it's not his that he just goes by what his manager tells him. I told him they should really update their website then but go ahead because I needed to get my keys. Took him less then 2-3 minutes to pick it and I hand him my card. I decided to pull up the website to double check the fees and asked him again what the amount was and he said it was $227! I told him hold up, I thought you said $101. He said no. I called the company back and was telling them what was going on and the first person either hung up or something because I had to call back again and explain the situation. The guy spoke with his manager and I was told they could drop it down to $160. I wasn't happy and asked why it was so much more then their website and he said it just depends on what they have to do to get in. I replied that he just picked the lock and it wasn't even a deadbolt. They guy replied that because he had to pick the lock it made it so high. What??? Of course if you get locked out they are going to try to pick your lock first. I've locked myself out of my house several times in the past and have never been charged over $100 for them to come out and pick it open. So what would it take to have the $35 fee? Them just coming out and turning my door knob to let me in?? Honestly, if I had known it was going to cost so much, I'd have just had a friend pick me up and hung out at their house for a few hours till my husband got home and let us in with his keys.

The websites give one information the phone call gives you another information and then when they arrived on site it's a totally different information started off $54 estemate. To arrive and be $176 just to unlock a bottom lock not even a dead bolt. Suggested to brake the lock to replace the lock free but charge me to rekey $20. Right after saying if i break it then it's on me. It's not a service i recommend or would use again.

Scary company, Do NOT give them any info!

This company is literally scary! I called for a locksmith to have my front door re-keyed, and asked if I could please have a guesstimate as to what it would cost and how long before the technician would arrive. The guy I was speaking to ignored my questions and said the technician would call me back. Technician called and was barely intelligible yet managed to be rude. Asked him approximately how much and he got even ruder and said it would take him 30 minutes to get to my house. I told him forget it, if he couldn't give me a rough estimate then cancel the order. 10 minutes later some lady calls back from this number and says between 80-120 bucks but it would depend on the (angry) technician. The technician called me approximately 40 minutes later and said he was in the neighborhood but couldn't find my house. At this point I had had enough, I told him to cancel. He started YELLING at me saying I couldn't do that and that he was at my house "what kind of a person was I, I couldn't cancel!" Scared me to death, he was very hostile and said he was at my house, creepy!! Now the technician, someone at another number, and the person at 800-774-9042 have been repeatedly calling my cell phone and my home phone and hanging up. Feeling like I might need to call the police...

24/7 Quick Pick Locksmith Services in Boulder CO is a scam- Do not use there services. DO NOT CALL THEM!! WARNING! YOU WILL BE RIPPED OFF. IT IS WHAT THEY DO...EVEN THERE "OFFICE" OR SO CALLED GIRL ON THE OTHER LINE WHO SETS YOU UP WITH THE TECH IS IN ON IT.

If you file a complaint at the number you called in the first place no help will come. They will say you consented to the service nothing can be done.

I was locked out of my car. Keys inside. Called as what is online says that they have $19 service fee and car lock outs at $35. I was charged $200 in Cash told he did not take cc. Even though it says on the website that they take credit cards and they are a company you can TRUST....BS....DO NOT TRUST TELL EVERYONE!!

The receipt that was given has no buisness information on it at all...its a blank paper with only the very high amount on it.

The Locksmith always says I will be there in 20 min no matter what. I heard him tell others on the phone. The car he drove was a brand new 4 door all shinny maybe gold in color or close...did not catch the make. It was 4 doors and no buisness markings of any kind. Should've stopped there.

Honestly I should've stopped the whole thing but was taken advantage of....I was to trusting. The rates online matched what I would pay in person and that was not the case.

Be careful the online is the first AD that pops up with their name on it. It was on the top when I did my search.

If you read this please go out of your way to tell others not to call the number listed here or the name and becareful for anyone doing similar things.

The lock smith company removed its website and phone number immediatley after I disputed a $184 charge for unlocking my house. Their site advertised $15 service fee and $35 lockout fee. The person who showed up did not show proof of ID and kept igoring my constant request to speak to a manager. The dispatcher called me on his personal cell phone to get my card number. I can not get anyone to return my call nor can I contact them.
