Our daughter's car, a 2006 Cadillac CTS had a headlight go dead. On this model it is necessary to loosen the entire front bumper to access the headlight assembly. The Quick Service Manager estimated an hour and a half for labor.
We protested that it was actually like a 20-30 minute job because our son had the same issue and that's what it took for his car. So, we agreed on the lower figure. Based on that, we asked to change both bulbs so that we could avoid having to return to change the other bulb. Again, we agreed verbally on the price.
An hour or so later the shop called and the manager we had spolen with said "his boss" said the price was too low and that we would have to pay an additional $200. When we went to pick up the car, they had it locked in the shop and would not pull it out until we paid.
They ripped us a new one. Don't ever let Quick Service work on your car. They have another shop on Rand Rd in Des Plaines, too. The owner was pretending to be a manager ... pretty pathetic, do't you think?
