Beware

We hired quick pros to do a large-scale renovation on a house that we bought and gutted. The money for the renovation was part of our mortgage loan and per the conditions of the loan contract they were to receive 50% of the material cost to begin the job. Quick pros expected to get half of their quote up front, and after finding out that they only got half of the material cost they artificially inflated the cost of materials in order to get more money up front. They told us that it was the only way that they would do the job. We handed Matt Dalesandro a check for $13,808 and the keys to our house on december 26, 2019. He agreed to provide a material budget, financial reports and receipts every step of the way, and he agreed to complete the first project of the renovation, a small master bathroom without trim or paint, by our move-in date of Jan 11 2020.

Matt tasked his brother Dan with the project, and by our move-in date he had not even installed a shower. Over the next 4 weeks the work progressed slowly. There were days when no one showed up to work, worked only a few hours, or left an unskilled laborer to work alone. What work did get completed was wrong. It took him 4 or 5 days to plumb the shower and it still leaked. The shower surround was installed with the edge hanging past the tub, the tiles he installed were uneven, the grout lines were crooked, the drywall wasn't finished anywhere close to correctly and a small closet wall he installed was out of square.

The last straw was after he installed the bathroom sink and vanity. He installed a drain pipe that had a 2-inch long cut in it, and any time the water was ran it poured through the family room ceiling. Over the same time we continued to request the promised budget for materials and receipts for what had been purchased so far, which Matt refused to provide. When I demanded that he have a licensed plumber repair the work that had been done and e-mail me the budget he accused me of 'bullying him'.

At this point I suggested that we part ways and asked for the balance of our nearly $14k minus a reasonable amount for work done. He stated that he was entitled to the full amount. When I threatened legal action he told me that it would only cost me money to sue him and that because his company was an LLC that he would never pay a dime.

Over the next several weeks he repeatedly (and incorrectly) threatened to implicate us in fraud over his fudging numbers to get a bigger check up front. We then did some public records searches on him (which I urge you to do as well) and found that he had several suits and judgements against his former and current companies and himself personally, his payments to Workers' Compensation had lapsed and he did not have coverage, and he very recently filed a quitclaim deed to transfer his home to only his spouse's name possibly as a way to transfer his asset. After failed attempts to work out a refund agreement with Matt, we pursued legal action and had our lawyer send a demand letter.

Matt initially called our lawyer and claimed that he intended to return $8,808 which is the initial draw amount minus the value of work completed as estimated by a representative of our mortgage lender. Since his initial call he has not answered repeated calls from our attorney.

I would not recommend that anyone ever hire quick pros or any other future construction company owned by Matt dalesandro. He has stolen our money and it has cost us nearly $2000 to correct the shoddy work that was done, plus 2 months of time to find a new contractor and file the paperwork with the bank, and we have to spend $10k out of our savings to make up for the money he took. Meanwhile we live in a house that is essentially demolished except for the bedrooms that we have renovated ourselves.

It's really simple these guys pay who they feel like paying when they feel like paying and if your down and out don't bother even hoping these guys are going to pay you. (Conartists) they take advantage of homeless people and or people down on their luck promise them the world and then do not pay.

These people are also into the blood street gang and should be put in prison just for that reason but in today's society no one cares so inoccent people continue to suffer because our judicial system allows these people to walk around free claiming what they believe in is a religion but it is merely nothing more than a cult who in the 1900 and 1800 century would have been put to death for witch craft, and racial treason.

the Bible says if a man betrays his own race of people he is to be put to death.
