I went to Quest diagnostics at the address 2365 Quimby Rd Ste 211, San Jose, CA 95122-133 for the two lab tests. They promised to send the above lab test results to the doctor's office in 3 to 4 business days. But they did NOT do the tests and did not send the test results to the doctor's office. When my doctor contacted them and inquired about the lab results, which never arrived the doctor’s office, Quest diagnostics informed that the tests could not be done and advised the doctor's office to send the patient (me) again to a Quest Diagnostics. Hence I obtained the doctor’s order again and did the test at the Quest diagnostics location: 2581 Samaritan Drive, San Jose, CA 95124-4112. This time Quest diagnostics did the test and sent the results to the doctor’s office in about a week.
However, Quest diagnostics billed twice for both dates. I called them multiple times at 1-800-758-6047 but there was no human to talk with, they only accept payment via an automated system.
Instead of being sorry for not doing the test on time and being sorry for doing the double billing, they forwarded my account to collection to ruin my credit history.
Wlked into Quest Diagnostics, showed our insurance card. They took it and made a copy. Performed a simple blood test. Then after some time, they sent us a bill saying they do not provide testing for out health insurance company (Aetna?), and sent us bill for over $500 for a simple bloot test.
They would not take any responsability for not letting us know that they do not work with our insurance company. No policies are appreantly accepted from our insurance company. You'd think they would let you know that your insurance is not accepted when they look at your insurance card and make a copy of it. If we had known, we would have gone to a different lab.
To add insult to injury, they send you a bill that is about 20 times the normal insurance cost for the simple blood test. And insist on not adjusting the bill and thereating to ruin your credit if not paid.
These vultures purposely use the confusing insurance rules and coverage and take advantage of the innocent patients who have no control or knowledge of their internal processes and agreements.
In no other industry, one would buy a service or product without knowing the costs. In healtcare, these vultures abuse the lack of information (which they hide - they could have easily posted on a board which insurance companeis they work with, there aren't that many companies) and rip off patiens, irrespective of their inability to pay. I wish someone would sue them and teach them a lesson.
Only after contacting my attorney, Quest Diagnostics stopped a repetitive billing for a sixty-dollar invoice!
I paid the bill on time thru my bank's bill-pay facility as I've paid Quest Diagnostics bills several times before for previous laboratory analyses. On this latest invoice, they sent repeated tardy-payment notices, up to a fourth notice in spite of my sending them proof of payment via postal mail and via telephone conversations.
All of this to no avail until I had my lawyer write them. Then, oddly, they sent me a check for the amount of the invoice, $60.75, and later, a letter stating a zero balance with an apology for any inconvenience.
While waiting for resolution, I phoned my doctor's office letting them know of the repeat billing and asked them to avoid using Quest Diagnostics. They were appreciative of the information.
I don't know whether Quest is dishonest or have nitwits in their employ–––or both.
Besides, the attorney fee of $350 less the $60.75 that they sent to me, they, in fact, caused me much inconvenience!
On December 19, 2017 my husband and I arrived at Quest Diagnostics clinic for unscheduled bloodwork prescribed by his endocrinologist, Dr. Michaels. I digitally signed him in and he was immediately taken to the back for the work. He said the nurse immediately asked for his identification and he handed her his State of Texas identification card. Afterwards he was escorted to the exit and we departed. When he arrived home he remembered that the nurse did not give him his ID, and it was too late to make the long drive back. It was the start of the holiday season so we tried calling them to find out if they were going to be open at anytime so that we could go back and pick it up. It is impossible to talk to any person in this organization. They are unreachable. Today I called the Dr.'s clinic, since the Diagnostic Center is downstairs from them. One of the nurses tried to call and could not get through, so she went down there and inquired about the ID. She said they searched by could not find it; and "believed" they gave it back to my husband.
This same type of incident happened to my grandson, just last year, when he was directed to a clinic for drug screen during job interview. They took his ID and held it until they completed the work. Then handed him a hanful of paperwork, but no ID. They swore they had already given it back to him.
Every,I mean every time I use this unscrupulous company I'm sent an outragous bill. I have medicare and Bluecross as a secondary insurance. Quest will only bill medicare and not Bluecross. They tell me to contact Medicare and have them bill Bluecross. I deal with Emory and other healt care providers and "never have I been requested to to the work their paid for. They keep reading me their hook line which is I signed a form to pay for services denied. Yes I did but I expected these bums to at least bill both of my healthcare providers. Quest Diagnostics needs to be on the T.V show "American Greed"!
Recently I was terminated in violation of the ADA AND FMLA. Having worked there for 3 years I guarantee you patient health is not their concern. In my time I saw them regularly cause best harm to patients and they don't care. They provide minimal training to employees and the patient's health suffers immensely! Insist your critical labs be taken anywhere else if you like to live!
I entered a QUEST DIAGNOSTIC LAB 03-14-16 for blood work for my thyroid. I was charged $147 assuming that the cost was complete until I recieved a bill that was not only due within 3 days of recieving it but since the test came back not normal that the second one had to be done. Quest did NOT inform me at the time that a second test might happen and therefore cost more. It was there responsibility to INFORM me of that. I will NOT be paying. DONT GO INTO QUEST.
When I arrived at the Diagnostics center, I requested to pay everything up front so I do not receive a bill. The lady estimated the Bill to be around $100. I paid the $100 that day. Weeks later I receive a bill for $350! They claim my insurance does not cover these blood test that I took. I thought it was their job to verify that my insurance is accepeted. Not only that, but I was verbally quoted around $100, but am being billed for $350! This is a case of false advertising. I would not have taken this blood test had I know it would cost me so much. These people are theives. I will not be able to afford this and now it is going to damage my credit!
