This company is a rip off. Consumers please stay away from them. I ordered a used engine for my car on march 22nd 2019. They said the engine only had 53,000 miles and they promised a five year warranty with a seven to ten day delivery time. After one week went by and no tracking number, so I called to cancel my order. What a nightmare. On hold for long period of time. A week later still no refund. I am calling every day but no one want to talk to me. I left several messages. No return calls. They are very rude on the phone.

They said they will have to charge a 25% restocking fee. What a scam. I now found out that there is a pending lawsuit in Wisconsin. I wish I did some research before I placed my order. This has been a very unpleasant experience, Every one, please stay away from this company. They operate several different web sites and they all promising the same. I contacted the Winsconsin State Attorney General's office regarding this company

There is lawsuit pending in the state of Wisconsin. The operation is actually based in Wisconsin. I believe the Leawood Kansas is just a front. I believe the owner's name is AL Talyansky

THIS IS A SCAM COMPANY--- PLEASE, PLEASE STAY AWAY

QUE IS A HUGE SCAM!!

Like most of the people who have taken time to write a review I found out the hard way that this company is criminal, unethical, unresponsive and just does not care. I would not be surprised if this company is not based out of another country.

If the individual who submitted the information above regarding the pending lawsuit has any additional information I would be interested. I have already contacted a lawyer and they are drafting a letter to send them. Based on the responses, or lack of responses and rudeness and information I have received from quality used engines I am pretty sure this will have to go to court.

I think there might be a class action lawsuit here. Perhaps they can pierce the corporate veil if this is a corporation and not a proprietorship and go after this individuals money personally.

I purchased an engine for my G35 sport coupe in April. Like many of you it took forever to come. When it did come I was immediately informed that the engine look like crap and it looked like it had been sitting out in the snow for quite some time. I shrugged that off thinking it was sour grapes from the company who was putting the engine in my car because I chose to get the engine somewhere else. Boy was I wrong. It turns out that it was not even the right engine for my car. I have a G35 2 door sport coupe and they sent me the engine for a G35 4-door all wheel drive sedan. most importantly the engine does not work. The engine was seized up.

Again, if anyone has information regarding specifics on lawsuits I would appreciate it. It might cut down some of my legal cost going after this individual.

Thank you,

Phil Hill

Quality Used Engines sold me an engine for my Mini Cooper but sent me the incorrect engine and it only went about 90 miles. They admitted they sent me incorrect engine and said they would send me another engine at no cost. They said that they would stand behind the engine replacement labor costs. The cost of replacement was $A1,573.00 and they credited me with $610.00 and said that's all they do on warranty work. I explained that this was not warranty work, it was a screw-up on their psrt and they should stand behind the entire amount. That's when a mon named Scott hung up on me. The new engine has gone about 2,000 miles and the check engine light went on today and I will have it evaluated tomorrow afternoon.

They were very unprofessional and did not give a hoot about how long they put me without a vehicle or what my additional costs were to fix their error. If you know of an attorney that would take this case, please let me know. I don't care if I recoup any money from dealing with these robbers, but just want to avoid them getting to another party. Not everyone has an extra $1,000.00 to throw away on a company that has no moral compass.

Class action law suit against QUE

Hi, my name is Phil Hill. My email address is a1 thrill-seeker at hotmail.com. I am speaking to an attorney regarding them sending me an engine that was seized right now. I don't know how it will go. I think it is wise for everyone who has been robbed by the sky to look at getting their money back perhaps the Wisconsin State Attorney general's office will want to pursue a class action lawsuit themselves. I don't know? I will be asking my attorney about this.

Thank you,

Phil Hill

Advertised a used motor with 57K miles on it. when motor was recieved it looked like it had been sitting outside for a year or two. Mechanic installed motor and it would not run. After several phone calls and 3 weeks I was able to get them to send a replacement motor. In the mean time Mechanic partialy disasembled first motor. it had a bad timing chain and broken chain tensioner, which aloud the all of valves to hit top of pistons. All valves and pistons where damaged. Motor was NOT repairable!

Second motor arrives 10 days later and it has ok compression in 3 out of 4 cylinders. So mechanic pulls head and finds chips missing from exaust valve. sent head out to be completely reworked.

This all started 2-14-22 it took 75 days to get a running motor and still can't get a refund for all of the extra labor cost. Motor swap was $1500 and it was done twice because first one was bad. head repair to second motor was $320 not to leave out buying oil, gaskets, antifreeze and replacement bolts twice as well

I could have purchased a long block crate motor for less

I ordered a used engine for my 2006 toyota tundra on 11/04/2019, the engine took 3 weeks to get to me and it was wrong, I sent them pictures showing them what was wrong with the engine and also gave them all my trucks info. proving I ordered the correct engine they made the mistake. the kept putting me off and were very rude to me, I demanded to talk to a manager and was told I'll get it when I get it ,So after waiting 3 more weeks with No results I contacted the credit card company and reversed the charges.

I contacted Quality used engines and told them to come and get there engine. they sent a truck and picked up there engine but lied to the credit card company and got the money back. Now they said I WILL NOT GET MY MONEY BACK. I contacted a attorney and filed a case against Quality used engines and Won a judgement against them but they are SCAMMERS and have no physical property to put a lien against. If anyone knows any pysical property they own Please List it so we can Stop these SCAMMERS and THIEFTS

6.0 ford diesel

Received engine Oct 2019 was supposed to be 80000 mile Dyno tested engine. When it arrived it was covered in grease and oil dealer installed it and would not start after further inspection the high pretoil pump was wiped out. Called and was told warranty does not cover the oil pump which I argued how was it a dynoed and tested engine if the oil pump was wiped out? Now after 8 months of getting jerked around saying a replacement was sent and 1st engine was being picked up they said sorry it's been to long and it's out of warranty????? Scum bag cock sucker Scott in warranty is a professional scammer. I am out $4400.00 for engine, $1000.00 for new high pressure oil pump and additional $1800.00 to install and remove engine.

Do Not Buy Anything From Quality Used Engines!

We had to contact them repeatedly to get the engine initially. Including a threatening email before they shipped it to our mechanic more than a month later. They took out our $1,520 the day we ordered it though.

Our mechanic is a master mechanic who works in a reputable shop. After he finished installing the engine, he drove it about 30 minutes and it started to make really loud noises.

Our mechanic has already put in about $2,000 in labor. He called the company, we called the company repeatedly.

They never returned our calls or the threatening email I sent about contacting our credit card company.

I called our credit card company. They are going to investigate and dispute the charge. We do have to return the motor for the credit card company to dispute it. Idk how much that will cost to ship.

We’re going to look for a rebuilt engine from a reputable company. Our mechanic suggested we check BBB before ordering another engine.

We’ve since found several with A+ ratings where we could have bought a rebuilt engine for about $700 more.

I checked BBB. Quality Used Engines has an F rating.

I hope everyone who wrote a review will post on QUE’s twitter feeds about their experience. They have 4 twitter feeds. Just look for Quality Used Engines.

I had to put my review on Facebook as a comment under their previous posts. I copied and pasted to several comments so more people can see it before being ripped off.

Anyway, good luck to everyone. I hope these reviews will help some other poor soul.

Our mechanic is a great guy. He said he won’t charge us for the labor on the bad motor. Just for the labor on a rebuilt one.

We are really fortunate. Other people would have had to pay $2,000 in labor twice. And he works in a good shop. This has been such a hassle. I haven’t been able to drive my car since January.

I'm convinced this company is a Scam!

-They did not send me my engine for 2 months so I had to get another and I called and cancelled. They kept 25% as a "restock fee". Even though they never shipped it or taken it out of stock. (I think they make more profit this way than on shipping engines)

-Never returned my emails or phone calls.

-And if you read their fine print for warranty it is rediculous with so many restrictions-e.g.: installation must be complete within 10 days of delivery, and 100 other things that void it every time and another customer said hers was voided bcause she didn't click on a link. The reviews on their site are all 3-5 stars are all from "myreputation.com" I went to that Site and it is just a single photo--If only I had looked here before buying.

Stay away from this company!! we saved up to buy an engine and we regret in every way using quality used engines. We're now waiting on our third engine because the first two weren't tested like they said they were. No one has apologized for this and they have in no way made it right. Instead we've now been waiting now 3 weeks for the third engine while they've ignored emails and calls from us. When we have talked to them they treated us horribly and like it's our fault. Their products are junk and the words they describe their company being on their website are complete lies. We're an honest family who worked hard to save up and in no way have we deserved the treatment we've received and mostly to have received two faulty engines!! i want to make sure no one has to go through what we have!! i have pictures of the of the first engine that wasn't cleaned or tested. According to quality used engine standard processes and protocol weren't taken!! the second engine after our mechanic installed was misfiring and so a compression test was performed. Come to find out the second engine that was supposed to be tested and approved was also faulty! now we're going on week 3 of waiting for the third engine and to be honest our mechanic is extremely apprehensive to install it. The track record of the engines actually being verified and tested doesn't seem to be happening. Don't trust this company with your money, time, and trust !

I needed an engine for my Mazda and saw that Quality Used Engines (QUE) had the 5 year 50K mile warranty at a reasonable price. I purchased it and saw that according to them it would arrive 7 to 14 days from when it was ordered well that should have been great but it did not ship until 14 days and all I would get back as a response from QUE was that it was going through quality control (sic).

The engine finally arrives at my dealership and it arrives with a dented intake manifold but otherwise, it looked good. The engine was installed and ran great but after the dealership test drove it they noticed an oil leak. It turns out that the RTV seal on the oil pan has a leak and Mazda noted that it looks like it was changed one time before.

When I tried to call QUE's customer service and got put on hold and no one ever picked up. I finally decided to call the sales line and was told that the service department was working and I must be mistaken, he put me on hold and never came back!

Finally, I sent them an email where they sent back a response 'Unfortunately our warranty doesn’t cover seal or gasket leaks so we will not be able to start a warranty claim for this issue.' I called the customer service desk again and actually got an answer and was told that in the Warranty info it states that seals need to be replaced when installing the engine. It does not explicitly say that it says, ' 'We do not warranty oil leaks/damage on engines or transmissions due to non replaced seals, gaskets or filters.'

This does not say that all seals and gaskets must be replaced and is buried in the T&C's. Horrible all around and reporting them to the BBB.

I ordered a replacement engine for my 2000 Chrysler minivan.

The first engine they shipped had a broken block ear (where the transmission bolts on). We called, and they promised to ship a replacement engine.

When the second engine arrived, it had water and corrosion in the cylinders. We called, and they shipped a third replacement engine.

This one had problems too, and the garage charged me an additional $500-600 to get it to where it could be used.

We filed the additional cost with QUE as a warranty claim, which they said they would review and pay. But they've never paid the claim, and now whenever I call they just take a voicemail message and then never return the call.

Originally I ordered from them in part because of what seemed like a very good warranty, but at this point I have near-zero faith in them ever making good on any other warranty issues that might arise in the future, either. :-(((((( I'm very disappointed with their shoddy customer service.

I purchased a used engine for my 1999 ford ranger that was supposed to be compression tested and steam cleaned with 68k when I recieved the engine it was damaged and one cylinder had only 20lb of compression which I paid $1,565.00 for this enigine. After several phone calls to Scott in the warranty dept and alot of complaining they fianally sent me a new engine he told me to have my mechanic send him the pictures and to let him know if the engine was put in and if it worked to start the warranty.

Long story short my mechanic sent them the pictures and their part of the bill which was close to 2,000 mind you I have now invested 3,500.00 in this motor. I get a phone call from my mechanic telling me that they haven't been paid yet. So I call Scott in warranty which he is the rudest person I have ever dealt which. Now he is telling me that they will not honor the warranty because it wasn't activated.

In which he told me on the phone when I told him it was in that all they had to do was send them the bill and it would be taken care of. They will not pay the bill so now I'm stuck with another $2,000.00 bill I would not recommend this company to any one they are rip offs and don't sell you what thier adds say. scam artist is what they are. Very upset customer.

From the get go, this company has been a nightmare to deal with.

I should have listened to my gut instinct when I first contacted Quality Used Engines via telephone. It took forever to get someone to answer the phone, and once they did, the two people I spoke to were very abrupt, harsh and overall extremely unfriendly - and I was simply following up on a email that they had sent me confirming an offer on an engine.

When I finally decided a couple of weeks later to go ahead and make the purchase, based on what the company was claiming to sell me - an engine with 64,000 miles on it with a 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty. The salesperson was also very abrupt and even insulted me during our conversation. At that point, I hung up and gave it some time.

Later in the day, a "manager" from QUE called me and attempted to use scare tactics to make the sale, stating that he had five other customers wanting to purchase the same engine, yada, yada, yada.

I waited another day or so and then I ordered the engine online. This was on May 17, 2017. The engine finally arrived on June 6, 2017.

Because the engine was shipped on a pallet and wrapped in dense layers of cling wrap and plastic, I could not visually inspect the motor prior to delivery to the mechanic.

However, just a few days later, the mechanic contacted me and stated that the engine revealed FAR more wear than an engine that has 64,000 miles on it should. In fact, the engine that he took out of my vehicle had nearly 200,000 miles on it, and it looked better than the one I received from QUE. Sure enough, once the motor was installed, there's a low end knock and smokes while idling. There is no doubt in my mind that the engine that QUE sent me is a junkyard core.

I have attempted contacting them via phone, email and certified mail. There has been ZERO response.

After speaking to the AG in Wisconsin (this company's main headquarters are in Cudahy, WI - near Milwaukee), I have since learned that there is pending action against Quality Used Engines by the Wisconsin Department of Justice (civil litigation - possibly a class action) as well as possible criminal charges pending.

Still don't believe me? Check out the Better Business Bureau's report/warning about Quality Used Engines (dBa SW Engines, Southwest Engines, Engine Shopper, Engine and Transmission World): https://www.bbb.org/kansas-city/news-events/news-releases/2015/06/bbb-issues-alert-on-quality-used-engines/

Buyer BEWARE!!!

I'm currently out over $2500.00 plus the time and trouble to deal with this mess, and a disabled vehicle that is on a mechanic's lift...with no resolution in sight.

I purchased a rebuilt engine for $2440.00 that did arrive on time. Had 10 days to install, however, the replacement was a bad engine. Company shipped 2nd engine which has broken parts. The company manager, Scott Green, is extremely rude and unprofessional. He will not take my calls or give any information as to who I can speak to, in order to help me resolve these problems. Today, when I did speak with him, he actually hung up on me! He doesn't know who he is dealing with. I will surely continue to, patiently, sternly, and emphatically continue to contact this ridiculous company!
