In January 2021 I hired Pursuit Restoration to do a bathroom remodel. What I got was a complete nightmare. The contractor installed damaged/improper products, poor paint job, left wall seams exposed, left rough drywall and painted over it, installed items crooked, left leaks, did an overall horrible job, and refuses to come back to fix anything since he feels there are no issues.
The shower walls and sink/vanity were damaged in their care. We told them we didn't want damaged items since we were paying for new items, they installed the damaged items anyway.
When they installed the shower walls, they were not flush with the bathroom walls. They put up block trim to "make it look better", but they didn't cut the trim right so now there is a large gap at the top on both sides. They cut the wainscot above the shower walls crooked. They installed the shower doors crooked. They hooked up the shower water backwards.
They further damaged the sink/vanity when they drilled the hole for the drain, and didn't even try to patch it. The hole saw was not sharp and took out a sizeable chunk of the sink/vanity wall.
They used black pipe risers for water lines. Black pipe is used for gas lines and instantly rusts when used with water. They left leaks both under the sink and by the water heater. They had to pull out the water heater to try to fix the backwards shower water, still hooked up the water backwards, and bent the main pipe going to the water heater (which started leaking). Had to have a plumber come out and replace the pipe to stop the leak.
They left rough drywall, holes, and exposed seams in the walls. Painted over everything anyway. They did a poor paint job and got wall paint on the ceiling, trim, sink/vanity, and on the medicine cabinet. They got ceiling paint on the wall and shower wall. They also did not paint in places that were requested.
When they put in the new flooring, they found out they needed to trim the door to allow for the extra 1/4 of flooring. They trimmed the wrong end of the door, so that had to be replaced. They cut the next door crooked and had to replace it again. With the 3rd door, they had tried to rehang the door so many times that they destroyed to door frame.
The caulking job they did was absolutely terrible. There are large gaps in the caulking in the shower walls. They didn't recaulk the medicine cabinet after they had to move it (it wasn't centered).
Overall, we were very unhappy with the work that was done. We had told the contractor this several times throughout the last few days of the "remodel" and at no time did the contractor say anything to the effect of "what can I do to fix this?"
Instead, when I filed a complaint, the contractor came back with threats of "you have 30 days to file a court order or late fees, collection costs, and possible legal fees will be added." and threats of filing a lien against my home. He has since been paid in full to avoid a lien but he is still refusing to fix anything at all.
