My Truthful Work Experience With “Provincial Smart Home Services” (Formerly Home Care Now)!

Approximately back in December Of 2020, I found this job through Indeed.com when the company was called “Home Care Now“. I applied for this job because of my Strong Telemarketing Background in dealing with Windows, Doors, Backup Water Valves, etc. and got hired right away based on my credentials in their very small, start-up office which Grew Way Too Fast For Their Own Good!

When I started here, we used a system called the Portal and it was Super Amazing and Quite Easy and Efficient to use. Carter was my trainer at that time and he was Excellent in training ME. I was hired to book appointments for customers to get free assessments in order to hopefully buy products that they actually need at reasonable prices such as Water Heaters, Furnaces, etc.

I was Not the sales person going to the doors so I did Not know all the details of what went on during the appointments since the owners really did Not Want Me Knowing What Goes On, but it did Not take ME long to find that out from the many customers that I spoke to over the phone who called their company a Scam almost every single day that I was working here and I could Not understand Why for quite some time, but it eventually made sense to ME based on the Very High, Over Inflated Prices that they charge their customers compared to other competitors.

Fortunately, the customers have ten (10) days to Cancel if they are Smart Enough and have done their Homework and as a Homeowner, I would always get a Second (2nd) and even Third (3rd) Opinion when it comes to buying HVAC equipment, but from what my understanding is coming from the customers, they told ME that the sales representatives would basically tell them that they really need to make up their mind now on the spot or they will Not Get The Deal that they offered them.

Please Note: As a Homeowner, you need to get more than one (1) opinion on products like this just to make sure that You are Paying the Right Price! That is just Plain,

Basic, Common Sense!

Another Reason Of Why Customers Called This Company A Scam: Many of the Appointment Setters such as Carter were Lying To Customers By Falsely Telling Them That They Do Not Have To Pay Out Of Pocketbook which is Bullshit! I Never,Ever Said That To Customers Cause It Is Way Beyond A Lie and Any Customer Would Know This During The Visit!

Moving Right Along: I was very Successful at this job in making constant appointments and getting Extremely Small Commissions of ONLY $25.00 Dollars per sale in Return which is Not Even Close To The 1% That All Of The Other Companies Were Paying Me which was the Standard Commission In The HVAC Industry For Making Successful Appointments that Sell!

I can Not even reiterate on how many times I brought this up to Moe and Khalid, the owners (face to face) and via text messaging and they Promised to Make Up The Difference for ME which obviously Never Happened!

Moving Forward: At the very beginning I worked a few days per week because I had another job that I was also depending on but since I was so good at what I did, one (1) of the owners asked ME to work more days and I eventually Quit All Of The Other Jobs that I had and decided to Work There Full Time which was good because I needed the money. I moved up to like working for them five (5) days per week and then to seven (7) days per week.

Honestly, it did Not Bother Me because I was getting my bills paid including eventually getting my mortgage also paid off in full which I was Successful at doing so. However, problems eventually came about which I am going to discuss in detail which eventually lead ME to Quit for Good!

For Example: Back around the Spring Of 2021, Melu who used to work here doing the same job as ME became a manager one (1) day all of a sudden who had absolutely No Management Experience! Around that time which was around the middle of the Covid Pandemic, I was working mostly from home (including every weekend) since I was able to be Trusted by the owners to do my job and I sure did. However, Melu had a Problem with ME! I think he was Jealous at the Fact that I was working so many more days and hours possibly Making More Money than him and he would do things to me like yell, argue and scream at ME over the phone, control me and where I can call and so many other things which was actually “Workplace Harassment” which is against the law. He even Fired ME Several times via Text Messaging (in which I still have the Texts), however, he did Not Even Have The Power To Do So.

I was extremely concerned and stressed out over this that I contacted an Employment Attorney for advice, but I felt it was just Not Worth It To Pursue since there was a High Cost Involved. Instead, I expressed my concerns to the owners in front of Melu and it did start to get better, but Not Perfect at all! Remember, Melu was Not Really A Manager, but somebody who just got into that position because he knows the owners and was good friends with them at least at that time.

Eventually, one day Melu was being verbally abusive towards a few other employees (including myself) who did Not Like His Behavior who reported him to the owners since they do Not have a Proper Management Division to handle these issues and one (1) employee eventually Quit and Melu was brought down from a manager to doing the same job as me which he did Not like and he eventually Quit!

Eventually Zainab who also does Not have management experience, got promoted to being a manager which I do think was the Right Choice at that time considering that there was really Nobody Else Qualified or Suitable for that position other than her, however, there were still Some Major Problems in dealing with her as well which I will explain.

It was in some ways Much Better In Working with Zainab, however, she had a habit of threatening to go to the owners against ME Quite Often whenever she did Not Get Her Way With Me or did Not Like Something That I Was Doing which was absolutely Ridiculous after All Of The Thousands Of Dollars I Had Made This Company in Sales (Not For My Pocketbook) which was Astronomical and this was the Kind Of Verbal Abuse and Mistreatment That I Got From Her In Return!

Please Note: I was very good at putting up with her yelling and swearing at ME which a lot of people would Not Deal With For As Long As I Did!

The company for whatever reason was Growing Way Too Fast and the treatment towards their employees, including myself was Extremely Poor, Unsatisfactory and Disgusting to say the Very Least!

When I first started working there back in December Of 2020, the owners were My Best Friends and that Eventually All Changed Because Of “Money“, “Power” and “Greed“!

When they eventually moved from their small office on the fourth (4th) floor to the eighth (8th) floor, they took up quite a large space up there and the rooms started to get Very Crowded; especially the one that I worked at from time to time. The d**n Noise in my room was So Loud that I had to beg to work from home or in the kitchen because the owners were Too Cheap To Afford To Put Up Any Noise CubiclesTo Properly Prevent This Noise Pollution From Continuing and I am sure they still did Nothing about it up to now!

Vaping: Besides The Overabundance Of Noise In Their Eighth (8th) Floor Rooms; they also have a lot of Vaping Being Conducted From Within Their Offices including by my last manager, Zainab who all know that they are Not Allowed To Vape according to Building Management Guidelines, but they do Not Like Following Rules (since Provincial Smart Home Services) does Not Even Offer A Handout Booklet Outlining Their Company Rules, Period! Ridiculous!

Moving Right Along: Around Thursday, September 1st, 2022, the owners decided to Purposely and Deliberately Switch Their System From Using The Portal To Using This Horrible, Disgusting and Slow System called “Salesforce” which was Beyond A Disaster! I was getting Far Less Appointments than ever before which meant Less Sales and Wasting So Much Time For Nothing! Whenever, I would complain about the system to Zainab, she would yell, scream, swear at ME and threaten to report ME to the owners so I had to be very careful around her because she would React very fast to My Honest Comments!

Please Note: Because Of This Drastic, Disgusting Negative Change In Their Booking System, I Started To Experience Extreme Anxiety And Depression Causing ME To Hate This Job! It Was So Bad That I Actually First (1st) Quit My Job In Early September 2022 Because I Mentally Could Not Handle This Bullshit Anymore With The Salesforce and Moe Begged Me To Come Back And Give It Another Try and So I Did Which Was Another Big And Drastic Mistake!

Regarding Salesforce: They Launched The Salesforce Booking Website When It Was NOT Even Ready To Be Used And Common Sense Should Have Stated To The Owners If They Had It Was To Wait Until The Salesforce System Was Perfected With The Automated Dialer, but Moe and Khalid, the Owners Did Not Care! They Are Only After Their Own Interests And Definitely Not Their Employees!

At This Point In My Job: I was so Uncomfortable Working for Provincial Smart Home Services; especially with the Number Of Times that Moe had either Threatened To Fire ME and/or Lock Me Out Of The System (In Which He Would Clearly Indicate To ME By Text Which I Have Copies Of) if I Did Something Wrong That He Did Not Like and I Can Prove That Since I Never Deleted The Texts!

During this horrible and scary transition, I told Zainab and the owners that they really needed an Automatic Dialer To Dial Hundreds Of Numbers In An Hour instead of having Us Dial Them Manually which took Beyond Forever and during the 1.5 Years That I Was With Them, I have yet to See The Improvement since they NEVER LISTEN TO ME OR MY ABOVE INTELLIGENT IDEAS! Maybe They Finally Got It Done After I Eventually Quit! Who Knows!

Sometimes The Truth Hurts and I Really Enjoy Telling The Truth!

On Wednesday, September 28th, 2022, the owners held an Employee Appreciation Party at the “Royal Mezgouf” restaurant out in Etobicoke, Ontario Canada which was a Huge Disaster! Before arriving I did manage to check out their menu which was supposedly Iraqi Cuisine. However, when I arrived at the restaurant, I was So Disappointed. It had to be the Worst Buffet I have Ever Imagined! Firstly, I was expecting Proper Table Service coming from a restaurant like this instead of a Nasty Buffet which had No Falafel, No Grape Leaves, No Shawarma which were All Clearly On The Menu! They had some Nasty Fish With Bones In It, French Fries which were Definitely Not Even Arabic and other Nasty Stuff! On Top Of It, they served No Water At The Tables Either! I must have Stayed For 10-15 Minutes Before Getting Out Of There And Heading Home Where I Belong!

Please Note: I found out from one (1) of the employees that I used to work with that the owners (when they eventually arrived there which was Not When I Got There), They Did Not Even Hand Out Any Such Gifts Of Anything To Show Their Employee Appreciation! Absolutely Nothing! Can You Believe It? That Negative Party Was Such A Big Joke! I Am So Glad That I Got The Hell Out Of There Before They Arrived And Not Wait Any Longer Or Else I Would Have Been Even More Disappointed And Upset Than When I First Left The Restaurant!

On Thursday, September 29, 2022, Moe held a Very Negative Meeting Inside His Office with basically the Appointment Setters which included myself and he was busy Going Off at How Fewer Appointments We Were All Making. Well, isn’t that obvious due to You Purposely and Deliberately Changing Us From The Portal to this Stupid Salesforce Website which is beyond a Disaster in Every Aspect! I was so Angry and Offended at his meeting because while he was speaking to us, he Falsely Stated that I Only Got Nine (9) Leads back on Wednesday, September 28th, 2022 which was 100% False and he knew that! I guess he had to take his Disappointment out on someone and I Got Chosen! He also told us all that WE are ALL Replaceable Which Made Me Feel Really Good! Not!!!

Please Note: During this meeting, I was pretty close to Getting The Hell Out Of There For Good and/or At Least Working On It because I knew things are just Not Going Right with Salesforce and/or With This Sad, Negative Company Anymore, Period!

What Is Very Interesting: On Approximately Friday, September 23rd, 2022 which was One (1) Week Before I Quit My Job, Kayla, who was one (1) of the Best Sales Representatives at the company for the Windsor, Ontario Canada Area Quit As Well which I Believe was due to the Lack Of Appointments That We Were Now Getting Her And For All Of The Other Now Existing Sales Representatives Thanks To The Stupid, Idiotic Switch To Salesforce! Isn’t That A Coincidence and Then I Quit After Her! Great Company To Work For!

On Friday, September 30th, 2022: My Final Last Three (3) Hours Of Working There Forever! Thank God! >>> On my Very Last Morning Of Work, I was at the office since Zainab, the New Manager did Not Fully Trust Me Working From Home in which I have been doing so for the Past 1.5 Years On And Off, but anyway, I Had To Text Her That Very Same Morning because the Salesforce Website was Working Very Slow and/or Not Working At All and since she Never Responded, I decided to seek out Help Elsewhere and therefore dealt with Zach who is a Salesforce Trainer. Anyway, when Zainab, the Manager finally arrived at the office, she comes into my Personal Office Space and Starts Freaking Out By Yelling At Me For Texting Her While She Was Driving In Which I Did Not Know, nor Was Made Aware Of.

Please Note: Now How Would I Know When She Is Driving Or Not! Serious!

Furthermore, she should Not Even Have Her Phone On While She Is Driving If She Gets That Distracted Which Is Driving Common Sense! Period!

Moving Right Along: The situation Got Out Of Hand and of course, she goes right to Moe, the Owner like she normally does and Snitches On Me. Moe Immediately Texts Me and Tells Me that I Must Go Home and that I am Not Booking Any More Appointments!

So I Was Fired! Zainab Therefore Got Me Fired!

Well, To Top It Off, I Was Beyond Angry, Pissed Off and Overly Disgusted and so I Text Moe Back and said the following: “I Quit“!

I Have Had More Than Enough Of Their s**t And Abuse For 1.5 Years Which Has Got Even More Worse Than When I First Started!

Back on Friday, October 7th, 2022, Khalid, the other owner decides to call me Out Of The Blue just to make sure that I was Ok after I Quit My Job! Obviously if I was Ok than I would Not have Quit My Job! He also Never Offered To Make Up For My Loss Of Those Sales Commissions either which should have been 1% Of All Sales, instead of the Louzy $25.00 Dollars As Explained Earlier! Whoever heard of such a Thing?

They Just Use And Abuse People Financially Speaking And In All Aspects!

Final Thoughts: I do Not Regret Working for Provincial Smart Home Services (formerly Home Care Now), but I Regret the Fact that they have NO Proper Management There and it is Just Not Run Properly With No Written Set Of Rules For Everyone To Follow. This is the Kind Of Company that Operates Like A Revolving Door where People Come And Go and I Do Not Wish To Be A Part Of That Action Any More!

More Final Thoughts: I Wish Whoever Gets Hired There The Very Best Of Luck!

However, I would Never Recommend This Zoo To Anyone!
