Solace, precision auto , Protectmycar.com , solace auto warranty, craig rubino auto dialer scam , phone scam , credit card billing scam. Whatever you do make sure you don't give them your credit card info, you'll never see the money again. Run a background on one of the owners craig rubino, sued multiple multiple times from everything from illegal marketing and auto dialing, to other frauds. Do yourself a favor stay a mile away. One dead giveaway is they change names constantly.

I am not a victim nor have I spent any money on this bunch of jerks, but I am 72 years old and I know how people my age and older can be fleeced by these smooth talkers.I received 4 calls through the course of to-day (6/29/16)from people trying to sell me auto insurance and extended warranty on my new truck. I tried to tell them that a no name company could not match what I already have and they started to argue with me, at the end of the forth call I told him to take my name off of their computer and not to call me again or I would call my Lawyer, he tells me he is removing my name and number as we speek, but it may take a couple of weeks to come out of the data base, I then said one more call and we ould be talking to a Judge. After the call I got curious and it led me here. They are in the Manatee County-Bradenton Fla area and I am in hopesthat you might have the Facilities in place to warn the public. I am an ex-police officer and quite willing to help in any way I can.

Fearful

I just signed up with this company today for extended warranty coverage. From the little bit I have read I am afraid that I might have made a terrible mistake. What should I do now? The man I spoke to, whose name was Ryan Muse, told me that I had 30 days to cancel the policy. I don't know how to find out whether or not this is actually a reputable company!

So you want to know about protect my car? The best knowledge is insider knowledge. So lets begin. How do they get your information to call you? Mainly thru you going on the internet looking for car insurance qoutes. They also run TV ads and radio ads in select states telling you they will fix EXISTING problems with your car. Stop. Lol...who does that right? Well apparently their elite ambassador plan does. So how does that work? Well first off its a negotiation plan that you pay for but comes with free oil changes. You pay them $3000+ over 42 months for free oil changes & tire rotations & 2 tows per year. Heres the catch. Lets say your tranny went out and your first estimate is for $2000. Take it to PMC and they will negotiate labor, get cheaper parts, and bring the estimate down to $1000. Since your contract states you are liable for 50% of the FIRST estimate guess how much you pay directly to PMC? $1000. Guess how much PMC pays? $0. Remember youre paying them $75-120 a month. Plus the $1000. Btw they only pay in repairs the BLUEBOOK value of car. How much is your 2002 car worth? You could do better going online for discount parts and negotiating labor yourself not to mention you still pay a monthly fee plus the $1000. For what? Free oil changes? Really?

Now lets go to their salespeople and "compliance" director who happens to be a bar certified criminal attorney. Why does a warranty company need a criminal attorney? Check his name out on BBB. Then go to a attorney bar website. He goes on social media and if you expose them he is the guard dog. He should be titled the "protect my image" guy. Lets move on to the fact the people calling you to sell warranties. Pushy right? Well do you remember SDP, Magazine exchange, and Think Direct? Yes the same folks that sold millions unwanted magazines and got sued daily for decades? Well PMC uses their telemarketers to sell you car warranties. Let that sink in. The other warranties are the supreme, select, and driveline. Cost about $5500-$3500. Unless you own a benz or bmw you dont need them. Start a savings account for repairs would be better. Oh btw the "positive" BBB reviews and other reviews are solicited. They give customers 1-2 months of no payments or PMC reward dollars. In exchange they beg you to go to BBB and post a "positive" review. Dont be a sheep. Think and listen to them. You will see the scam.

Oh btw let me tell you what they tell their sales peeps to do. Ask you qurstions about your car to use against you to scare you. Its called hot buttons. They have daily coaching sessions. The coaches tell you "make them hurt" "use it against them" " throw it at them". If you call to cancel which many do they use it. The closers use it. You are nothing but a dweeb with a car about to catch on fire and PMC is your only hope. Do it for the kids. These guys tell you they sponser monthly lunches. Man you cant even get seconds and the portions are like army basic training chow hall servings. You better know someone who knows somebody to get that. As far as being voted tampa bays best workplace 2nd 1st 3rd or whatever that is paid for and solicited. Dont believe the hype. If you like ripping off people then protect my car with their 2 owner brothers who say they are us military vets, who knows, but they ask us to tell you that, is the place for you. Oh btw there is no veteran discount or senior citizen discount. Everybody pays the same in the final analysis. Remember clearwater florida is the telemarketing scam capital.

salesman and customer service great!!!

have to give the compay a zero!! salesman talked me into buying a policy. sounded great!! good monthly payments low down payment.but when i took the car in for some repairs, the dealer called to see if the repairs would be authorized, and the customer service agent sai "no, no, no ,no,no!!!. then when my service department from the dealer called and told me this, i said go ahead with the repairs!!. then i called protect my car, to ask him whats up, he told i have to submit the repairs in writing to the board?? at that point i decided to drop them like a hot potato. after some discussion ,i tried explain to him that the policy was like thinking that you have money in your wallet, and when you open your wallet, theres nothing there!! he told me not to disrespect his company. he said they have been in business 14 years. i told him my dealer has been in business over 45 years and they have never heard of protect my car !!! then when i asked for a refund, i was driving around supposedly covered but not really.i was quoted a prorated refund. 6 weeks later a recieved a check that was less than promised less that 50%. but i now feel much better knowing that im not going to ripped off by those guys in florida. im on the west coast, and they are based on the east coast. i saw some bbb ratings for that company, and i asked him if they were relatives that wrote those nice letters. he said his mom and sister use protect my car. i said of course employee discount!!! anyway ,fantastic salesmen, fantastic customer service, but empty promises. stay away these guys are crooks!!! and there are legitamate companies out there ,do your home work you will find one. get your dealer to recommend one .

Please do not be another scam. I called my store bought card when i called for balance i was rerouted to protect my car. I have disability but i am fully mindful of what took place. It was a very pushy sale instead of just hanging up i said ok. Then i called back to cancel. The salesperson i remember it being a lady, said she was going to give me a great deal 49.00 down 60.39 month. I could cancel anytime and get my money back if canceled in 30 days. I called the following day but i kept getting cut off. I emailed.I got statement in mail shortly afterwards. It was a loan statement for 3000$ from mepco. I was never told i was taking out loan. I assumed it was like my renters insurance. No pay no coverage. I called loan company to cancel. They said i had to call protect my car. I did this was still within 30 days. I also emailed. They told me it had to be in writing. I wrote them but lost my reciept. I called them back because i was still getting statements to pay from loan company. They now told me i had to down load cancellation form. I went to library and downloaded the form. The firm stated i needed to pay 50$ to cancel. I sent from but thought it was a scam so i did not send 50$. I was really shook up. Very stressed the whole ordeal. My daughter said just do not pay and on down the line she would help me. I'm sept 2018 i received letter from mepco. My contract was canceled. I thought i good. Oct21, 2018 my best was cut off, insufficient funds. I called my bank. I am on disability so i do not get a bank statements. I called and they said there was a draft of 60.39 from protect my car. I know i never have them authorization to take any money out of my account. It is sunday so i have not been able. To reach anyone from protect my car. I called a number on there web site for people who need roadside assistance and the man said he worked for nation wide. Please please help me. I never have permission to auto draft any payments other than the 49.00 down which i emailed and phone wanted it refunded. I disputed the49.00$ after my initial attempts to cancel but they said it was legal. It can not be legal. I know what i heard. And there was never mentioned a third party of any auto drafts. I am on social security and that is why i use that bank. I emailed them again the other day about my49.00 refund. It may sound crazy but i think somehow from that email they got my banking info. Please help. Please notify others. I do not want anyone else be victom. Thank you. Ann tack

Refund from Cancelling Membership!!!!!!!

These people at this company will NOT give you a refund when you give them your mileage on your car at the time of cancelling your coverage, they refuse to take your word about the mileage on your car. My mileage was very low 65000 miles is on my car, service rep tells

me that to low , I have a new company for a 2017 Hy(Tuson) and 2012 Chevy(Traverse) and the cost is great. For my two cars for the year $898.00 and the company sway bars too.

Be very care of this company, they are SLICK and FAST talking too.

I have contacted WWW.PROTECYMYCAR.com, and paid what I thought would be a good deal. They told me to go to Commercial tire company and with a $609.57 dollar amount to fix my front end. Protect my car makes me pay 25 to 45% savings. I still have to pay $469.95 for the rest. I go to O'Reillys and do it my self for $175.00 out of my own pocket. No savings here. Please beware of the scam.

I was telephoned at my central time zone, which was dinner and busy time. Mentioned several times that i had a toddler i needed to tend too, without regard i was forwarded to 3 seperate individuals. First the introduction man, who asked questions about any existings problems or lights popping up on my dash, when i indicaed one he then sent me to a mechanical specialist that never stated wether it was a problem or not, then after telling the first two guys that i already had a warranty they sent me to a specialist/manager?

Named hasahn phelps, the phone number on my caller id was different than the number on the website, as i said the magic words for a scam basically, "i wouldn't lie to you." the same as, trust me. He went to great lenghts to lower my monthly payment and down payment, drastically. I asked questions regarding why their price was so diffrent from my current one with a different company, which i named and they are from the same state, yet he did not know of them. Found that odd, not knowning your competition.

The deal for free tire rotation and oil changes were only good for the current call, as i asked to have one day to contact my current warranty provider and compare/question cancellation options etc.. I told him i was checking his compnay out on the web, and he was cool about it. I think he may be a good guy just with a bad company and maybe he doesn't know, he went so far as to give me a 30day money back guarentee for the down he got off my card, his name, extention and a different number than what is on the site, a different one from my caller id, and yet another one in the email that was propmtly sent.

After finding this i immediately tried to cal back, his hours are 1pm to 10 pm est, five minutes later the office was closed as it stated it was not regukar business hours, yet reording did not tell what was reg business hours. & pm here should be Pm there right? The 918-376-0837 telephone id number was disconnected, so i tried the number he gave meand like fore mentioned they were suddenly closed and referred me to the web site for roadside assistance, and the office and extention for hashan phelps has not been tried yet. I checked my card within 7 mins of ending call just to find out that the down payment was swiftly removed propbably while i was still on the phpne with them. I am going to email and call this office number tomorrow and again on monday during regular hours and cancel, with the money back guarentee he promised me via his manager through an im as we were speaking, pray for me please, single mother of 2 teens and a baby!! he asked this and said, god bless you after the trial offer was concluded, along with dow you have any other vehicles that we can add right now! hashan i hope you are for real dude, i work very hard for my money and i need every dollar of it bad as no one has my back in this world but god.

Pray for me as these people have my card number, address, phone number, name, make, model and vin of car!

I signed up for this warranty however after I signed up something just kept at me to go and check out Solace most of the complaints that I was able to find are the usually bend over let me screw you by saying things it was a pre exsiting problem or the proper maintence was not done. After seeing that I contacted Solace to cancel within my first 30days OMG was I given the 3rd degree and agressively defensive. I finally told the CSD please can I just cancel this and get off the phone. I was then transferred to sales spoke with a sales rep would now wanted go get me an additional $800 discount to state and drop my payents as well. After saying I still had time to compare their warranty with other companies. I agreed and hung up only to receive this e-mail today :

It’s a new day at Solace! Effective August 31st, 2015, Solace will begin doing business under our new name: “Protect My Car”.

This name change has been a long time coming. The purpose of this letter is to let our valued customers know how excited we are about the rebranding of our company name.

As each of our loyal customers already know, we have been selling our vehicle service contracts and protection plans under the Solace name. This name (Solace) was a legally filed “Fictitious Name” of our parent company, Advanced Marketing & Processing, Inc.

Recently, in an effort to expand our brand, our Management Team has been exploring a variety of different advertising

options (radio, online, television, mobile, etc.). As we met with marketing experts throughout the country, we received a lot of feedback and advice. The most common piece of feedback that we received was that the “Solace” name did not convey our line of business and/or provide potential consumers with a description of our product and/or industry.

We took this advice to heart. And, after months of planning, research and hard work, we are extremely proud to announce that Solace will soon be operating under the name: “Protect My Car”.

We can happily report that we were recently approved by the Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations, to use the Fictitious Name “Protect My Car” (on July 31, 2015). As with any large-scale rebranding, it took about six (6) months of preparation and hard work (to purchase and build a new website, update our computer systems, etc.) before we were able to roll out our new name.

We understand that this name change may cause some confusion among our long-standing customers. Please accept our most sincere apology for any confusion that this name change may cause. What is important for our valued customers to know is the following: your policy and benefits will remain the same, your current Solace membership card will remain active and our Claims Department and Customer Service telephone numbers are exactly the same. At this time, we happily invite you to visit our new ProtectMyCar.com website (which will look and feel just like our old Solace website).

Should you have any questions about this information, please do not hesitate to contact us via email at: [email protected].

Sincerely,

Solace / Protect My Car

Customer Relations Department

This appears to be the 3rd name change in less that 2 years so I called back and xld. In my research the consumer report states the first red flag to look out for is with the warranty company starts offering big discounts to get your business.

They scared me

Incredible experience, they called me and wanted me to immediately sign, give them all my credit card information etc etc. They told me that if I don't sign right away I was going to loose the deal. Thanks God I didn't sign up.

I purchased a 5 year extended warranty. My payments where automatically withdrawn from my business account. I was ok with the services, I only got one repair done that it cost them like $175, plus oil changes every 3,000 miles. I would constantly be told that I had a great plan and that they do not offer it anymore.

I take it that they were loosing money on it. I only had 13 months of $66.99 payments to complete our contract and I would have my vehicle insured for a total of 5 years. I called about a week ago and was asking about a current repair i needed on the insured vehicle. To my surprise I was told that I got cancelled! What!

Apperantly they claim that my CC debit was denied by my Bank, assuming that my CC had been cancelled, or replaced with one that had a different expiration date, which none of those issues exist with my main Bank card. I called the bank and they claim there was no request, no submitting, or denied payments to Mepco whom was responsible for making the withdrawals, and had been collecting them for 29 payments of $1.942.71.

Protect my car claims that they sent me mail correspondence to the issue which I never got and I was canceled for non-payment. It was so ironic that they were willing to re-instate me but my repair wouldn't get done and I'd be on a probation of 30 days and 1,000 miles. They requested that I pay up the two months that apperantly they were not able to collect and didn't request OR TRYED CONTACTING ME BY TWO OR THREE OTHER MEANS THEY HAD AVAILABLE TO REPAIR THIS ISSUE.

The re-instament was not going to give me the same plan, and it would increase my premium to $120 for 48 months plus a $299 down payment and only be for 4 years. I feel that this was a switch and bait practice that I've heard be done to others. Cancelling my great plan, due to their negligence and ripping me off to re-instate me which basically they just cancelled my good plan and tried to sell me more ins.

I spoke with a supervisor whom was going to send me all the documentation and send it forward to administration. They refused me to speak to the Mng. Cameron Letson. I have not heard more than just an email on how much more they want to rip me off for: Good afternoon,

Per our conversation today, I will be providing you with two quote options for a new policy going forward. I would highly suggest that you contact MEPCO Support in regards to the two payments that were missed as they are the financial institution responsible for processing payments. Their customer service phone number is 1-800-397-6767. Your MEPCO account number is#XXXXXXXXXXXXX.

We are unable to reinstate your old policy, but I am able to re-write you into a new policy AND we are willing to assist with the ignition repair and the oil change. After that, you will have to wait the 30 day AND 1000 mile waiting period.

Below is two quote options for you. They are both Ambassador Elite, which is the same policy you were in previously.

Option 1

4 year Ambassador Elite

Down payment $133.98

46 monthly payments of $67.61

Option 2

4 year Ambassador Elite

Down payment $99.00

46 monthly payments $78.78

Please contact Protect My Car customer service with what option you are wanting to go forward with so that we can get the vehicle covered again.

Thank you in advance!

How can you work here and still be okay with your self. Basically is a scam when I signed up with them the guy said they cover everything accept break pads and tires. When I called to cancel it was like pulling teeth trying to get the lady to cancel my thing even though I just signed up 3 days previous. Literally I had to ask her 8 times to cancel it before she did wtf. I have the phone call recorded as well I wish I could post it on here for you people to hear this shit.. All In all I finally got her to cancel it "I think" she gave me my cancelation number we will see if I ever get my money back.

I just had a field day pissing them off trying to convince me to purchase their trash coverage and he literally just hang up on me and he was mad as hell lol. Auto insurance covers you for 6 months then u renew so why they pitching 42 monthly payments? (THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS!!!) Protect your car by not getting in bed with these clowns! They will try to make you feel stupid and helpless without them but trust just hang up. They will have to retrain that clown who called me LMFAO!!!

  • Apr 26, 2018

Great company. Definitely not a scam

Not sure why everyone thinks its a scam. It's an extended auto warranty just like you buy at a dealer for a used vehicle. If you don't want it, just don't buy it. I have been using them for over a year and they replaced my engine which saved me thousands. Everything I was told on the phone they have done, even the free oil changes. Which is really nice, otherwise I would probably let it go too long without getting it changed. Yes, I could probably save the money each month in a coin jar and pay for any repair myself but it's not worth the headache and it's nice having the extra perks.

This company called me on a sales call telling me my car was about to expire so I asked them every question i could about breakig down. They assured me they would pay no matter what happen after the 30 or 1000 mile. Two days after the 30 days my car broke down.Midway ford said they had to pull the transmission to see what the problem is but Protectmycar denied the work.I called on a fake name and recorded them asking all major questions to catch them in lies and they again said no matter what.Protect my car said the reason they wasn't paying was do to I gave them the wrong miles.I explained to them when the sales call came in my wife had car and i can only guess so they said what was the guess I said around 59k close to 60k.That is what they recorded.I told them no matter the miles I was over the 30 day. They said they are denying it anyway. They also said it was a pre-existing problem and I told them it wasn't.They lied about eveything taking two payment from me. I asked to be refund and cancel my account. They told me no refund but they would cancel my account.

This company has changed their name three times in four years to avoid lawsuits and they lied when I asked them if they was BBB accredited. They said they was. THEY ARE NOT.
