Last year in 2016, I went to the gym and I asked for help in how to use some matchines at the gym. I was directed to one of the trainers at fitness evolution gym from the Professional Fitness company. I sat down with him and he then walked me through the gym and showed me few exercises. Then we came back and started talking about training sessions and plans available. I wasnt ready to sing up for training lessons but he kept going on. He started with the expensive sessions, and because I was feeling uncomfortable with prices, he then started going lower and lower. Finally he "cut me a deal." He was going to accomodate me with once a month session for a year contract at total of $196. I signed the contract asking him to wait on it until I made up my mind. He said it was no problem and that I had 5 days to cancel anyway and that he was going to help me out.
On the fifth day, late on the evening, he writes me back saying that it was my last day to cancel the contract. I was confused because I thought I had 5 business days to cancel. He then said I had only 5 days from the day I signed (he was not clear on this "little" detail when we first talked) and the day I signed, it was a Thursday and weekend was in between. I was really upset and frustrated because he basically told me he can't help me out with it anymore and that I had to deal with his company and not with him amymore. I felt like I was walked directly to a tramp without a way out. I couldn't cancel on that day because post offices where close to send a certified mail. I sent the letter anyway the very next day and after that I didn't hear anything from them until later this year. I thought they did cancel the contract and that the case was closed. Now, this year, after several months later, they are trying to charge me for the fee of the contract and also for late fees. This is insaine. I really feel like a victim of a scam. I was taken advantage by this trainer and his company.
In Januray 2016, I signed a one year Agreement with Professional Fitness and i paid for first and last month. Before i signed the contract i asked the person if i can cancel anytime, which he did say yes. Due to my medical condition i decided to cancel the account in January 28th. I spoke with with the person that i had help me open the membership, and he told me that he would sent me a text through my cell phone regarding how to cancel, which he never did. Therfore, i decided to cancel the credit card that i had in filed so they could stop taking money from my account. Since then they keep sending me statement every month. I tried to contact customer service a several times to see if they can help me. The person that i spoke too wanted me to pay all the amount of money they had charged me which i only worked with a trainer for only three weeks towards the month of January. I had send a letter to the same address that usually send me the statement. Nothing had resolved and they're still charging me. Right now we are on May 2016 I received a statement of $1005.00.
