I sent my 2001 gold quarter in April of 2022 to get graded. they sent me a totally different coin back. It's nothing like the pictures I took of my coin. i called them it took me a month to get ahold of someone to talk to about it and they said they don't keep an inventory of the coins that come to them.
No records of coins now who does that? PCGS stole my coin and takes no responsibility for it. PCGS stole my fortune.
I found a coin with a dime on one side and a penny on the other side and sent it to PCGS/Collectors Universe for grading and recieved counterfeit coin that was not my original coin from the company. I took pictures of my original coin and sent them to Heritage Auction for assistance of a sale because they had sold a similiar coin for thousands of dollars.
I sent PCGS proof of my images of my original coin and they since has referred me to their lawyer. I was not aware that the company was victimizing consumers until I read their reports and learned of other victims after researching the company. The company victimized coin collectors who do not reside in the state of California and has a clause that legal action can only be brought against them in the California Superior Courts. I do not reside in the state of California, but in Hawaii.
They victimize coin collectors based on the raw value of the coin declare value, although the company is fully aware of the value the coin becomes after it is certified. Complaints filed with the Attorney General Office and Better Business Office was and advised to take legal action. I have a legal complaint drafted from a legal assistance, and hope that a class action suit can be filed as well. I have lost interest in collecting coins, and will never submit another coin to PCGS who parent company is Collectors Universe again.
I hope this report helps someone here, because it is true that the company is ripping off coin collectors. I found my coin in a coin roll from a bank, and have sent them affidavits and pictures. The company has lied, and tries to make the consumer appear to be unintelligent or not a coin expert. Consumers would be arrested if they produced counterfeit coins, however this coin grading company continues to replaced original coins with counterfeit coins. I am a veteran and trusted the grading company. I have all the proof and documents, if someone is willing to assist me in filing legal action against PCGS/Collectors Universe.
My coin is 1817 half capped dollar and in auction history it was sold for over 250k and half million dollars. Since the auction house won't accept my coin until it is graded by PCGS ,NGC OR ANACS , I decided to submit the coin to PCGS website because I live in California ,so I choose PCGS in Newport Beach and they recieved my coin on May 15.2021 . I send three coins and they finally was return to me second week of July of 2021.
Two dollar coins 1885 Morgan dollar and Eisenhower was graded by them ,but the 1817 wasn't and the package mark counterfeit . But it is not the same coin that I send to them ,because I took picture of the coin ,which is normal to do it ,just in case something happen . The one they return to me it is not the same coin and it's not my grandfather's coin that I kept since I was in high school .
I contact a lawyer after I bring the coin and pictures to two expert in my town who are coin collectors ,they told me it is a different coin and PCGS stole my coin because their company sold a whopping 250k similar coin like mine .
