We hired Jason Butts of ProEx Underground to install a sump pump system into our new property in January. I had 3 different companies bid this job and we chose Jason because he's a smaller business and it was an affordable option. He also verbally told me he guaranteed this would fix our water flooding the basement problem, so I trusted him and went with him. Come to find out, he didn'nt do the job, but his crew did.
In the process, Jason and his crew decided to move a 3 year old a/c unit (obviously not knowing what they were doing) and cut the lines, therefore breaking the furnance and the a/c unit. I didn't know this at the time, because they were also supposed to re-connect the a/c unit once the job was finished - they finished the job, and left a $400 check under my doormat, with a note to hire someone to reconnect the a/c unit. Come to find out the reason why they didn't reconnect it, they broke it. Jason put pressure on us to pay for the job, so I paid the $7885 in full. 45 days the sump pump broke. Then when we finally hired someone to re-install the a/c unit - that's when we found out they broke it. I have 2 letters from 2 different companies stating the neglect that was done breaking the a/c unit and furnance.
So now we have a broke a/c unit, furnance, and a sump pump job that never worked. Totaling $11k to correct his negligence.
Jason ignored our calls for 2 months. I finally sent an email stating we would procee with legal action. He gave a verbal face to face commitment to my brother, Derek, the engineer, stating he would refund us in full by end of July. I also have texts from him stating he would send a check by end of July.
To date he never sent the check. I have reached out to him twice since Aug 1st and no response. We have now filed a class action with our attorney and having to proceed with court just to get back the endless damage he cause our home, on top of still to date water in our basement and not fixing the original problem. My concern he might do this to another family, and probably has done this in the past and gotten away with it. Whatever you do, choose another company, Jason Butts will steal your money, and leave your home in a worse condition than it's original state. He's clearly not a man of his word, but a con-man!
