To keep things simple as possible, I was seeking a direct response ready email list to test my new swipe copies for my offer. Mind you, this offer is a very high converting offer that has been proven, tested, and is one of the top offers in the nutraspace even with cold traffic.
I was contacted by a rep from Product Advance. I was looking for a warm email list that was engaged and had opted in to receive the types of offers that I send with the same target demographic that I have on my active list of over 500k opted in subscribers.
The error rate hovered around 50%. I was asked to supply a NAICS or SIC number to match my target audience. The failure rate was about 50% of what was provided. The sheer quantity of failures and the format they required to replace bad addresses (with what?) were impossible to fulfill.
I'm left with a large quanity of junk and server providers not happy with the bounce back rate. Paying a HS student to do a website stripper may have been more practical.
I was sold on this company building a new website for me at first, after all Brandon ( Sales Manager- Owner) He just said all the right things...
This is what I experienced :
I hired Product advance and payed $1650
I received the first draft 10 weeks from the time I hired them ( late)
The layout was boring, simple and not at all following my design interview...
the logo looked like child's play ( both attempts)
Wrong pictures and write up where uploaded ( the tutor said don't worry you can change anything to your liking)
Yes - however I paid $1650 for what?
Product Advance provided only 10-15% of actual website build up, I did the rest. What you see when you look at ToDoListKeyWest.com is the result of my creativity and work.
After many grievances, delays and frustration I got my website competed,..
I tried working with the ticket system however it takes 2-5 days to receive feed back.
When I called the office only Brandon would answer and that was 2-3 days out of the week.
There is no 24/7 customer service available
I came to the decision that I could not use their hosting services because of all the problems and delay ( 1 year was included in my package).
I asked to transfer my website to a new hosting service
It is ONLY than that Brandon told me that my website will only work on their platform !?!
WHAT?
I paid them $1650 to build me a professional website,... that's it.
This company withheld basic information in order to gain my business.
I asked them for a refund they denied,
I had an attorney submit a letter on my behalf to motivate a refund, they denied and tried to say I was harassing them..
Keep in mind I am in Oregon and their offices are in South Florida.
After 6 months of back and forth I decided it would cost me to much more to fly, get lodging and pursue a lawsuit,... so I moved on.
My solution :
* I bought 3 year hosting from $300 ( Product advance $200 a year)
* I purchased my website theme for $45
* I hired WordPress Live for 2 months to help me rebuild my website ($149 a month, cancel anytime and rehire anytime)
* I have full ownership and control of my website
* Bluehost has 24/7 live person Customer Service ( great !)
+ ticket system, email
What I found out in the process of rebuilding my website is that, I never had full control or ownership of my website with Product Advance.
I was locked out of my website cpanel (control panel),..
This way whenever I would need any new apps or addon put into my website,... I would have to pay Product Advance an inflated $$$ to get the app or addon.
