I was contacted by Pro Collect telling me I owed a debt to McKinney Orchid Apartments. When asking them the amount of the debt or any information they refused to give that up. I got on my credit report and saw that the debt was reported for an inaccurate amount. I contacted the company and let them know that I had the money order stub to show that the amount they are showing was completely wrong. I also contacted the apartment complex to have her contact them to update the amount, they did so and nothing happened. I paid the apartment complex directly since the debt ProCollect has was not accurate. After the apartment complex was paid I sent a lady by the name of Tameka Clifton and email with the letter proving it was paid, that was on March 31st. On April 27th I got a phone call from a Mrs. Martinez. When I tried to return her phone call I was hung up on 4 times before someone finally transfered me to her. I then explained everything that was going on while she cut me off millions of times and got an attitude. At the end of the call she told me I would be responsible for paying the debt by the end of the month. I let her know it was paid to who it was owed and was not worried. During the course of the conversation she mentioned that she could see where the letter was sent in showing it was paid off that they just had to verify that information with the apartment complex. After getting off the phone with this unprofessional women I filled a complaint with the BBB. I then received a response on there from a Mrs. Suzy telling me the information was never received and that they had no record anything had been paid. Just days before I was told it was received. I responded to them and forwarded her the email that was originally sent to Tameka Clifton. A few days later I received an email saying they have notice the debt was paid and that they will be removing it. Surpise surprise the debt is still on my credit, and still mentioned as open and in collections. This is the worst company I have ever worked with. They are just angry that they bought a debt from another company and lost money on it.
