I like many other Amazon sellers, grew to look up to and trust Ashley Kinkead. Her podcast is great and provides good content. I decided to schedule a call to inquire about her coaching program. When she said the cost was $12,000, I said this is a big investment and I will need time to think about it. She became extremely pushy and offered a $2,000 discount for "FAST ACTION" pricing. In my case, this was a significant investment, I still needed more time before investing $10,000.
Ashley then preceeded to tell me when she contacts "non participants" in 3 months they deeply regret not joining her coaching program and that I too would regret not joining. She then proceeded to lecture how I was going to fail and would be going back to my 9-5 soon. On top of this the price tag would be rising in a couple months due to the "long" waitlist (another marketing ploy). I had trusted and respected Ashley by her supposed "morals". I was totally shell shocked by this experience.
There are moral business leaders in the E-Commerce space, take their advice... NEVER rush into a big decision. Take your time and hang around the person, get to know them and evaluate their character. You should NEVER be pushed or pressured into spending THOUSANDS of dollars... if you experience this RUN!!
Ashley might be living the nomad lifestyle from her success on Amazon (although after our conversation, I had doubts of this myself). She may be using this as a marketing ploy to prey on those getting started. She uses her podcast to give and to serve, which is great... this was one of the reasons I trusted her. Maybe this is a ploy for that as well. And after investigation all the success stories she shares are from her inner circle of friends.
Her coaching program may have been great, however, after our conversation this program smelled like a RIP-OFF from 1,000 miles away. Schedule your call and see for yourself. Just be aware that you should NEVER be pressured into spending this amount of money, and then harassed when you say you need time to think about it. I was told I would fail at this business because of my lack of being able to make a decision on the fly.... $10K is an investement that I don't make after a 25 minute phone conversation.
We took Ashley’s PLM course in 2018. DO NOT take her course! It is ridiculously expensive, there’s a huge sales pitch to entice you up front, and she teaches many “black hat” tactics that are 100% against Amazon’s policies.
While there is a ton of information in the course itself and with the 1 on 1 coaching, it is definitely not worth the price tag nor the possibility of getting your seller account suspended because of the black hat tactics she teaches. Many of the principles Ashley teaches are “gray areas” within Amazon’s rules, guidelines, and policies.
One thing she taught us was to get paid reviews for our products which is 110% against Amazon's policies. Because of this advice, we lost all of our reviews on 2 of our PL products and almost got our seller account suspended.
We did get our buyer account locked up for leaving reviews because she constantly recommended helping fellow students out by leaving reviews for their products. It’s 2019, and our buyer account is still locked up. We have never been able to fix it.
Reviews is just “1” of the many gray area tactics that are recommended in her course and through her 1 on 1 coaching.
The good stuff she teaches (it’s not all bad), she learned from Jim Cockrum Coaching (I can verify this because that’s where we knew her from). Do yourself a favor and follow Jim, his team, and his courses; you won’t regret it!
After we took Ashley’s PLM course, we completely regretted turning away from Jim and his team but at the time we were looking for quicker success; however hard lessons learned.
Success takes time and a successful business takes time to build!
We are still digging ourselves out of the HUGE debt that Ashley’s course and the thousands of dollars invested in failed products put us in.
Any “TrustPilot” reviews you see are pushed by Ashley through her course. She doesn’t require students to write them; however she HIGHLY recommends positive TrustPilot reviews.
Any responses you see from Ashley herself is because she is constantly on the defense trying to protect her reputation. I get it but if you were an honest person and didn’t do anything wrong, you wouldn’t need to protect anything.
Please understand that Ashley also puts you under a contract and you will not be able to get a refund.
With that being said, I DO NOT recommend this course. Anything that is going to cost you $10,000+ and makes you sign a contract is a scam!
