This is a two-fold review.... one for my experience, and one for my mother's experience....
My mom's dress was cut way too short, and when she tried to show the seamstress the problem, she told my mom she could fix it. My mom's question to her was "how?" since the dress was cut, it is impossible to fix that type of mistake and to have the dress look perfect. The dress was ruined and nobody seemed to have any solutions. The next day my mom was told to come back to the store and pick a dress off the rack...when she did, they tried to charge her an other $300+ because there was a price difference. Even though they were the ones who made the mistake in the first place.
When it came to my wedding dress, the seamstress was downright rude. She did not want to hear what I, the bride, wanted... she made alterations without my consent. She added straps to a strapless dress, again, without my consent. I asked her to please wait to make a bustle until I could decide which one i wanted. When I went back to choose the bustle, I came to find out she already had sewn my dress into a bustle that she chose for me.
When we called to speak tot he owner, Chuck, he wasn't there nor did he ever call either of us. Florence...whatever role she plays in that store, is a nasty old woman who is better served sitting home than dealing with customers. Rebecca, the person who sits at the front desk, seemed very accommodating and nice at first. I gave this debacle the benefit of the doubt because of her... until the point where I tried telling her what he seamstress said to me and she insinuated that I was being dishonest about the conversation. Yes, she did make the situation right for my mom, but, it doesn't change the fact that the only correct thing that store did was allow my mother to pick a new dress while they absorbed the price difference. And even that wasn't so wonderful since it was a sample dress that other people have tried on... that in the end cost her near $700, which was the original final price of the first dress. Just an FYI, you guys didn't do us any favors since n ow it is going to cost more for us to fix the mess your seamstress, Caterina, made.
Overall, this was a miserable experience...and three weeks before my wedding.
I since have taken my dress, which was FILTHY once i got it out of the bag, to a new seamstress, who now not only needs to correct all the mistakes, but has to also start all over again to make the dress right.
Bottom line: it is the WORST dress shop I have ever been in. Their customer service is horrible. And they need to reassess how they deal with people, especially brides.
And oh by the way, Chuck still hasn't made a phone call. That is bad business.
