Pride Transport Inc Reviews

Worst company I have ever dealt with!! I applied with Pride while I was still working for Navajo Express. I loved working for Navajo I was on their dedicated Costco fleet but I had to leave because they are running the fleet illegally and I'm not willing to risk my license and livelihood. I contacted pride and talked to their recruiting department. Everything sounded great so I decided this will be the company I will work for. I waited about 3 weeks after they offered me to come to orientation so I had time to put my notice in with Navajo and to give Pride time to do their background check and references and everything else for pre-employment. After about 2 weeks I was getting text messages from pride asking me when do I want to come to orientation. At this time I told them how about a week.

So on August 9th Pride paid for me to fly to Salt Lake City. I arrived that afternoon. Orientation started on the 10th. It was a 3 day orientation. Everything was going great. I had a hiccup with my drug test because I'm prescribed pain medication for a back injury. But I got that taken care of and everything was good to go. I was suppose to leave and take my first load on the 13th but pride said they where still waiting on 1 more thing. On the 14th which was Friday i got a call saying everything was good to go and that my truck was out of the shop ready to roll. I got all of my things packed from the hotel and got in the van that the hotel offered and was on my way to the terminal.

On my way their I got a call from Cameron in Prides safety department. He told me that my last company Navajo said i abandoned my truck in Boise idaho where I live. I told Cameron no that's a mistake. I had permission from the VP of operations at Navajo. His name is Steve Lusty. He told me I could leave my truck at the Boise terminal. Cameron told me well that's what navajo is saying. I asked him well if I call Navajo and I get this issued resolved would everything would be good to go and Cameron said yes. So I contacted Navajo and I spoke to Steve the VP of operations and told him exactly what was going on and that this issue is stopping me from getting a job. He told me "I gave your permission to leave that truck at the Boise terminal. Give me a hour I will go over to HR and get this issue taken care of".

After this talk with Steve I called Cameron back at Pride and told him that this issue is taken care of and if he needed to talk to Steve at Navajo he could. Cameron said "well I've spoken to a couple of people I know at Navajo and their just not giving you a good reference so we are going to decline employment" I said what are you talking about Navajo is giving me a good reference. They have called me multiple times offering me my job back. Cameron said well the people I've talked to are not giving you good refernces. At this point I thought it was against the law to ask individuals to give references unless it comes from the companies HR department or I put them down as a reference. Anyways I wasn't going to argue with him. I asked him ok is Pride going to help me get back home? He said no you need to find your own way home. I asked if I would be compensated for the week I spent in Salt Lake and for orientation and he said no.

So on top of all of Prides wrongdoings they also left me stranded in Salt Lake. I jumped through so many hoops and did everything they asked and also gave the ample time to get everything they needed to get done and this happened to me. I want everyone to be aware of this company. I heard so many good things about them and really wanted to work their and then this happened to me. Oh i forgot so after all of this I ended up getting home and starting my job search again. I applied for Gordon transport and they did a reference check on me and contacted navajo. Guess what?? Navajo gave me a good reference. Everyone be aware of Pride. Don't let them screw you like they did me. I was lucky that I only lived about 6 hours away but what if I lived on the east coast and they did this. It cost me hundreds to get back home. It could have been thousands. This week I contacted Steve at Pride in their recruiting department explaining all of this to him and asked him for the real reason pride wouldn't hire me and told him about spending hundreds to get back home. He replied with "I'm sorry you don't like the decision pride has made. We wish you luck in your job search". To me that was just a slap in the face.
