"Alex"is a nice guy but DISHONEST. Very SLIPPERY, reneges on bargained deals. Bait & Switch.....changes the terms of the prices he agreed to originally. Bought car on eBay. He kept my down payment of $295.00 and also left the car carriers with balance of $450.00 that additionally I had to pay to take delivery of car.
He promised ("lied") to reimburse the transportation balance when the total price for the car was $3700.00 plus $800.00 for shipping. Total $4500.00 out the door and down the street. Requested a $4500.00 bank cheque rather than PayPal (should have been my first warning of a flim flammer).
Be carefull dealing with Chris Rockwell he is nothing but a scam artist! Bought a car from us at below wholesale price for his customer to flip and make money and owning his own shop made up a bogus bill from his own shop for $3,000 thinking by blackmailing us and our reputation thats the way he is going to make money that way and when we refused he started ruining our reputation not an honest guy or a business man!
I would caution anyone thinking of doing business with Alex at Prestige 1 Auto in Hollywood FL. Upon contacting Alex to discuss a vehicle he had listed on line I was given false information based on what I received when the vehicle arrived at our shop. The vehicle arrived with several issues, contrary to answers provided when discussed prior to purchase, as well as numerous other issues that I will refer to as Deception by Omission.
After reaching an agreement to settle for a much lower dollar amount than the cost of repairs, Alex refused to follow through and then chose to ignore phone calls, emails, and text messages. He will claim he has to "Discuss with the owner" but thats another of Alex's fabrications as there is nobody else involved in the transactions but him.
Yes - Used cars are As Is purchases and the buyer takes a risk, especially with long distance purchases without inspection.
Yes - Used cars can have hidden issues that the Seller may be unaware of.
Unfortunately the world has become a place where some people will do or say anything to make a buck. Based on my personal opinion and first hand experience with this individual, I would not trust him on any future transactions. People can make thier own decisions and reach thier own conclusions but this is written as a warning to those who think they can trust someone to give them accurate and honest information about a product without personally putting their eyes on it.
