My complaint is regarding my 11-year-old son's experience at a basketball camp, where he did not have access to water from 9 am to 12:30 pm, and the coaches were unaware of this. Despite his love for the camp and desire to return, I am uncomfortable with the way the coaches handle children and the behavior exhibited by the Director of Basketball, Anastasia Williams, when I raised my concerns with her. I dropped my son off at the camp at 9 am, and by 9:15, he called me to inform me that he did not have water. I contacted Premier Basketball, and Anastasia assured me that my son could get bottled water from the snack bar. However, at 12:30, my son texted me again, requesting that I bring him water. It was then apparent to me that he had not had anything to drink for 3 1/2 hours I immediately call Premier Basketball again and the staff had \ given a him Gatorade. Upon picking my son up at 3 pm, I spoke with Anastasia about my concerns regarding an 11-year-old going without hydration for such a long period without the camp's knowledge. Anastasia's response was dismissive and unprofessional. She claimed that I was the first parent to drop off a child without water, which I found to be an unacceptable excuse. Anastasia also insisted that she had informed my son he could get water from the snack bar, which my son denied. When I mentioned that some children may not feel thirsty even when dehydrated, Anastasia replied that if my son couldn't recognize his own thirst, then the camp might not be suitable for him.
