Probably the worst Motorcycle Machanics ive seen in 30 years of riding .
I bought an 02' Suzuki VS1400 Intruder from a private owner who had the bike for sale there at theyre shop , AFTER they preformed $1000 worth of work on the bike , i.e Carb. Rebuilds , New Battery.
rode the bike 30 miles and had to push it 1/2 mile home..would not stay running ... Trailered the bike back to the shop where it sat for 3 weeks with no work done to it .
I brought in new plugs and air filters to be installed also which took another week ,
long story shortened , after severl visits i picked the bike up on a saturday , the owner Tony Mamone pushed the bike outside , said it was "all fixed" started the engine , looked me straight in the eye, turned the choke 1/2 on and said " if you leave it choked it will run just fine"
"when you come back in i'll give you 2 free hours labor for your time"
amazing right ? Well i took the bike to an Athorized Dealer to have them go over the Bike as its never run right .
The Service Mgr called and said "I think youd better come down and take a look before we start on your bike".
I went into the shop there where i was shown 20 pictures as well as the physical carbs taken apart , where Obviously these carbs were never touched . the Factory brass plugs that have rto be removed to be adjust A/F mixture after a rebuild had not been drilled out and removed..The carbs were full of dirt , slime , and corrosion , gaskets were all original , Jets clogged .. Obviously not cleaned let alone ever rebuilt...The Fuel Lines were cracked where they go into the carbs, The Cable were frayed , stretced and not even seating back into the sleaves..
Both the Machanic and the Service Mgr at the dealership where I brought the bike to be gone over said the it was Obvious to them that whoever had done this work on the bike could not get the carbs out right { very limited access} so they just shoved everything back in and got it to run 1/2 way right , and out the door ..
I'm guessing these are pretty common ripoffs , as who would ever tear theyre motorcycle apart to make sure the work was actually done?
It Will be interesting to see if Tony Mamone {powerSports of Palm Beach owner} will respond to this report
I'll even show you the pictures and put you in contact with the dealersip {Service Mgr even says he knows you }
Lesson Learned , these guys might be ok for routine oil changes and tires but anything technical do yourself a big favor and find serious machanics...
