I signed up to PogoPlug to upload my computer files, to hold copies of my files. It was about 2012 when I first bought their Lifetime Subscription service for Cloud storage.
My wife passed away earlier this year and I haven't been on the Cloud drive except for recently when I went to look for some Photos. I logged in on about Oct 19th, 2016 to find that the company is no longer providing this particular service.
Pogoplug did NOT perform due diligence to notify any users by email AND the notice they put on their website was only 7 days before they permanently deleted files. This is terrible behavior on their part and they should be sued for their actions and poor handling of this issue. I'm sure many people had some very important files and folders. I'm one of the l;ucky few that have my files located in multiple areas.
I signed up to PogoPlug to upload my computer files, when my computer hard drive was crashing. I believe it was about 2013 when I bought their service. I got a Lifetime Subscription. At first, it was unlimited, then out of nowhere, they changed it to 5g. I was over the 5g, so I have been going through the files to find duplicates before putting them on my new hard drive.
I have been sick for the past few months, but my sister was in need of one of my legal documents stored on Pogoplug, so I logged in on about Sept 29 or 30, 2016 to find that the company is no longer providing this particular service, but they were giving us software so we could move our data to their new service.
Problem is, they did not notify any of us by email AND the notice they put on their website was only 7 days before they permanently deleted our files.
Being a photographer, I lost thousands of photos that cannot be replaced, along with legal documents for a lawsuit I am in.
There are many of us who lost everything and they have done nothing to compensate us. There are so many things they could have done, like emailing us 30 days prior with the softward to the new program; moving our files to the new program, or something. They did NOTHING to notify us they were deleting our precious memories and offered no refund for the money already paid to them for a "Lifetime Subscription" to their service.
I have been a customer for over 3 yrs and I have family photos stored on their Cloud for duration of this time. On September 28, 2016 this company s**t down WITHOUT notice. Only a blip on thier website 8 days before, IF you happen to log in during that time frame. No email, no notice on their app on my iPhone (which is how I accessed and uploaded all my photos). All the sudden my app wouldn't work. I went online to to find out what was wrong with the site because customer service was no responding to me and I found out that had closed. I have priceless memories gone because they gave NO NOTICE. The company needs to be sued!!!
