Avoid ANY Business Dealings with Kay McDonald and Complete Network / Platform Host. They shutdown my websites without any warning and are holding my domains hostage all because I asked for unlock codes to move to another provider. More times than not, who you believe and trust as friends are NOT your friends when you are in business with them. Be very careful who you do business with who pretend to be your friends. Kay McDonald, CEO of Complete Network who also owns Platform Host is just that type of person. Her business focuses on website development and marketing business services. Due to my trusted relationship with her for many years when I wasn’t a customer, I agreed to become a customer of Complete Network / Platform Host…THE SECOND BIGGEST business mistake of my life. The past year her teams work was slow, shotty and not tested.
Although her agreement lists testing in the services, first she said her people were testing and then she said they don’t test on two separate calls. Trying to be cooperative I mentioned that her team could test some aspects of their work fairly easily. When I asked her why development of a simple download of my book along with a link to PayPal was taking so long, she said they are testing. I had to send a pleading email to get this simple work finished many months (at least 4) later. There was a deadline from the beginning with plenty of time to execute and agreed to prior to beginning the work. Kay personally agreed that the work would be finished in plenty of time. By the deadline, the book was made ready to download BUT the work was shotty and the functionality through PayPal was terrible and not working as prescribed. No communication was sent to me when the download was ready and a week later, I had to go out and test it myself to see if it was ready.
The performance was shotty at best and again not working as prescribed. I tested it myself and it was the most horrible work I had ever seen for such a simple function. I called Kay again. When she returned my call the next day, she said they don’t test when she said the delay was due to testing and on their invoice it was listed as one of the services. First they test then they don’t test. What a runaround. She also claimed I had not said what I said which was just not true and I told her I had recorded the calls just to be sure I had been clear. I had recorded the original design call and subsequent calls pertaining to this project with Kay. After replaying the calls to confirm I had been clear and there had been agreement, I decided we were are at a standstill and the best positive resolution was to move my sites to a new provider. I began sending move instructions early on but hoped that it would not be necessary. Unfortunately, after trying many times to resolve the design flaws they sent me a request for MORE MONEY. Are you kidding me? They couldn’t even get the most simple functions to work.
I felt we could not resolve this situation to my satisfaction and sent many emails throughout this process requesting unlock codes to move my sites with NO response over approximately 10 days. Due to the lack of response, I called Kay again leaving her a voice mail very disgusted with the performance thinking and telling her if she did not get this fixed I was going to move my sites. Most professional people review the situation and "make it right” and communicate this to their customer. Kay did not do this she SHUT DOWN MY SITES. My business presence was just GONE. I WAS SHOCKED and very disturbed at these business tactics. SHE HIJACKED my domains and destroyed my online business presence. Since my emails are attached to may domains, not one of my customers or business associates could contact me through my emails. In effect, she literally hijacked my business and took me hostage similar to any ransom ware hacker.
I was shocked; completely shocked. Following the discovery that my sites had Vanished into thin air, I continued to call and send emails requesting restoration and to release my domains. THEY DID NOT and they did not respond. When they did they said I had unpaid invoices and had violated my contract. THERE IS NO CONTRACT and no services are performed by Complete Network / Platform Host without PAYMENT IN ADVANCE. I emailed to describe the violation…they did not. I emailed and asked that if what they said was true, that I had violated my contract then why was I not warned about these violations at the time of the violation. I also asked them to provide a contract showing Terms and Conditions with my signature. THEY DID NOT because they can’t. Complete Network / Platform Host threatened to sell my cyberdefenseresources.com domain and have continued to attack me and my business. I have complete documentation of their actions showing their unethical practices including the email threads and the recorded phone calls.
Since Kay McDonald is CEO, she is ultimately responsible for these actions and for her company’s practices. She has hijacked my domains and my websites. Are these the actions of someone you want to do business with? I hope not; All of this from my wanting to move my sites and domains to another provider. My advice is never do business with Complete Network / Platform Host. NEVER! My second suggestion is always make sure you are in total control of your online presence at all times. Third, never do business with who you think is a friend. Business should never be personal. Kay and Complete Network / Platform Host has continued to attack me and my business all because I asked to move my sites and because I was unhappy with the work. Beware of people like Kay who have the need to destroy her customers when they choose not to continue to be customers.
