I worked for this company for about 6 months. My friend and I were recently let go due to lack of orders. The manfauctering director has a circle of friends employed there and another trio of ladies that he feels sorry for. When the boss is not in the room it's play time. They sit and gossip talk on the phone play ball read emails ECT. This is a new business producing reusable pipeline insulation for the oil and natural gas industry. All pieces are assembled by seamstress. As the boss is often not in the room and many different pieces are being made there is much confusion as to production flow and assembly. In all honesty I don't think the boss knows what to do himself.
The new sewing machines are constantly breaking down part of this is due to the boss and his friends having little or no training in sewing machine repair and maintenance . They own a lot of motorcycles and work on them and I guess that makes them think the are qualified to work on commercial machines. Most of the time when you point out to the boss that somebody is either putting pieces together wrong or horseplaying around you are told to mind your own business and " I got this". Nothing ever changes. One girl comes to work on drugs a lot (she was let go to ) always spouting her drama and many time insulting the other employees.
One day we were fixing some very large heavy pieces I asked a member of the goof troop who was sitting on their butt all day doing next to nothing to help me clear some space so I could sew. My reply was "if you want space get in the space shuttle and fly off". My friends work and mine in my opinion was exlemplory. We work hard all day long doing our jobs to the best of our ability with the small amount of instruction that we received. I also want to point out that seniority didn't play in the lay off decision because my friend an had been there longer than most of the employees that were retained. Several times we were not even given a full weeks work because some of the shop were sent home on Wednesday and tilt to return on Monday with no warning.
The reason being that they did not have materials for us to sew. That is the bosses not doing their job. If anyone in Tulsa get offered a job at this company I would not recommend taking it. If any businesses are thinking about using this companies products I would not recommend that either. First of all they are constantly changing how the pieces are being put together because they don't know what they are doing. Second the sewing machines are not operating correctly because they are not being serviced by qualified technician. So it is possible to do everything correct on assembly and still come up with a substandard piece.
