I sent my fiance photos one time in December of 2017 using this service. Beginning in March of 2018 Pigeonly started randomly charging my credit card for services I never used and aren't even available in the state of Texas. I called and got refunded in June. Then July I got charged 4 different times again and 3 more times in August. Called again and told them to remove me from their system and got another refund. September...4 more charges. 3 more charges in October and 2 so far this month in November. This company is running credit balance scheme and using deceptive business practices.
My friend suggested I use the service even though I was very apprehensive and I guess I should have been. I signed up and haven't even used the service when I saw a charge to my card. I hadn't received a call yet so I called them. No answer, so I googled this charge and there were quite a few complaints about this company. The charge was made to many accounts and never refunded but added to your "wallet". It is a disgrace that a loved one is being used as a pawn by companies like this. We have never had a family member in this position before, but working as a legal representative I knew this was rampant. I feel guilty about not speaking to my family member, but I will not be ripped off or abused. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY OR ANY OF THEM!!!! Our loved ones may be serving "time" but we should NOT have to be the ones who pay for abusive companies trying to get rich off other peoples sorrows. They made a mistake in taking money from me, I am huge advocate and they will rue the day they did this. I can be the thorn in your side.

A review of my bank account showed repeated unauthorized debits during the interval of time that I was paid in full. I stayed within the parameters. Pigonly started nickle and diming me every month sometimes mutiple times in a month. I called to report it, and they claimed they would fix it but never complied. They continued to debit my acoount. After multiple phone calls to complain as ask theay they stop, they sent me a confirming email stating they would close my account and not debit me again. I have my account information as well as the confimring email from a Pigonly representative to prove my allegations that they still continued to debit my account.
This company is dishonest and the unauthorized debiting of my account I call theft. I told them as much. The concept is great in theory but the tactics used to steal from folk who are already down and stuggling to support an incarcerated loved one, are unconscionable. I had to cancel my credit card which was inconvenient to me in order to stop them from stealing money from my account.
The young man who started the company should be ashamed of himself as he was once incarcerated and apprently did not learn the right lessions. I saw an idignant rebuttal from Pigeonly to a former customer who had some of the same allegations as I. Do not trust this company becasue they come off as genuinly wanting to help families stay connected, but that is a front.
I can produce documentation to support my complaint, so they can be as idignant as they please because I was idignant when my account was debited without my authorization. It's sad because they could be honest in their dealings and be as sucessful as been shady and stealing from folk who trusted them. I do believe in Karma though.

My boyfriend insisted that i use this mess because everybody in the prison was and the calls were cheaper welllll i talked to a rep and she said the calls were .10 cents per minute and we only get 15 minutes so yeahhhh its the same as the regular GTL calls so what damn difference was i saving NONE! this mess ain’t worth it talking about saving that’s a lie!

Immediately after signing up I had questions so I called their contact number. At that time I found out that he probably would not be set up even before trial period ended.
That was my first clue as to how this company operates so I cancelled trial less than 15 minutes after signing up. A month + later I have one 14.99 and three 7.99 unauthorized withdrawals in just a few days. Of course causing a major disruption to all my auto pays linked to card. This is not the first time this has happened.
I filed a class action lawsuit on Pigeonly and I hope soon they will be needing their own service!! Please take a stand. These theives need stopped NOW and be made to pay dearly! GO TO ClassAction.Org thank you.
This site also said that the letters have been recieved by the facility (Patrick County, Va Jail), they even provided his inmate number (wrong number), and I called the jail and they have never heard of this service before.
The jails in our county recently started using Pigeonly to have all inmate mail go to them. I signed up for a FREE account but had to give my bank card information because I guess they charge if you write more than one letter a month. I wrote one letter on July 7, 2023. They proceeded to charge my account $24.99, which I did not notice right away. Then on July 27 a charge for $34.99 was added. On July 31 I received 3 more charges for $34.99 each. That is when I noticed. I tried to call them but kept getting a busy signal. So I emailed them and then called my bank to reverse the charges. I then checked my email and saw that they had responded and blamed everything on their computer system. The bank told me they saw one reversal charge was being processed on August 1, but that 4 more charges (all for $34.99 each) were also processing. I had the bank put a block on my account so that Pigeonly can no longer charge me. Then I emailed them again and told them I had reported them to the U.S. Postal Service, Better Business Bureau, State Attorney General's Office, and the Credit Bureau. I received a response from them again with apologies and excuses. Then I called my bank again and found that Pigeonly had canceled the credit reversal but continued with the 4 new charges. I had to have the bank refund all of my money. This company is a total scam. Also, I had to threaten them with a lawsuit in order to get them to delete my credit card information because there is no way to do that on their website. Stay away from this company. Personally, I think that the county jails here are probably in on this little money-making scam since our court system out here is dirty.

The prison decided they needed an outside source to handle photos, letters, and articles to be sent to pigeonly in order for copies to be made. The copies are then sent to the prison and handed out to prisoneries. There is a charge every month, I decided to purchase $19.99 package, because I usually only send photos to my friend. I soon discovered turn around time for letters, photos and articles usually take around 3 to 6 weeks for this company. That in itself is totally ridiculous. Around a month into using this company I was checking my bank statement and decovered pigeonly was hitting my account for $34.00 or so every two days. Now, my purchase package was $ 19.99 and was to hit my bank account once a month. They were hitting my back every 2 days. I lost $280.00 dollars before I caught it. I immediately call my back and canceled my card to stop the charges. Next, I call Pigeonly and waited on the phone for 2 hours, I never talked to a person. I also discovered they were doing the same thing to many, many other family members of incarcerted prisoners. The same scenario was happening every two days or so. They even got brave enough to hit a ladies bank account for $3,000 dollars. The prison is not doing anything about the theft against so many family members. The prison feels that these are criminals therefore, whatever happens it is no skin off their backs. But, in this case it is affecting the families not so much the prisoners. Please, I beg of you to help put a stop to Pigeonly thievery. I myself, was not able to get any of my money back. The prison will not cancel the contract with them... The prison is in Iowa.

Absolutely terrible costumer service. They take your money and don't provide the service. Absolutely horrible. Get any other company but them.
