My family was called by the 'Pierce County Sheriff', and was told that they were trying to reach me regarding a case and to please call them back at 253.888.3774. I called the regular Pierce County line and left a message, but did not get a call back. The next day I got a call from 253.881.7545 and a Lt. Parker informed me that a judge David Hines had issued a warrant for my arrest for failure to appear for civil duty for a court case on Dec. 5th. He said that I had to come to the PC Sheriff office in Tacoma to sign an affidavit that I did not receive the jury duty notice (that was 'tracked', but he could not tell me what day I would have received it, although he did have my address), and that I needed to come down to the office with a bond for $1975 in MoneyPak cards. He said I had to get them at Office Depot divided between four cards, and that I then needed to call the Sheriff Treasurer 253.466.6621 with the confirmation number, then call him back with the confirmation number as well so I wouldn't be arrested when I appeared in the office. I asked to speak with his supervisor, and a Cpt. Davenport came on the phone (who sounded simliar to Lt. Parker). Davenport then reiterated what Parker had said. After that conversation ended I immediately drove to my local police station where it was confirmed that it was a scam. But that wasn't it. The scammers called me back! This time they used the name Lt. Hodges, and when I asked why a different officer was calling me he corrected himself and said that no, my name is Lt. Parker. When I asked him to explain why I couldn't find a Judge David Hines in the list of Washington employed judges he said 'oh, actually your case is held by Superior Judge Michael Schwartz. I then told him that he was a fraud and that I would be pursuing legal action against them. Please help me protect other citizens!
