I am a Florida home owner and replaced all my windows less than two years ago with their DH2760 series supposedly the "best" impact money can buy with lifetime warranty.
I have selected this company based on Home Depot sales recommendations and other positive reviews on the internet, and never the less to support local businesses in Florida, what a mistake!
I started to have trouble in the very beginning with the knobs that spring back and are holding the screens in place. They simply seize due to weather conditions, and lately start braking. Once they brake, it becomes impossible to remove the screens in order to clean the windows on the outside. Also it takes a couple trials to close the windows shut in a locked position.
So I decided to look for these screen knobs in Home Depot (they sell and install PGT), but they don't have them.
Next, I called the manufacturer hoping that they will honor the "lifetime warranty". Wishful thinking: 30 minutes on hold for service department, then hung up on me; called back 15 minutes on hold, then finally I asked for a manager that promised a call back from service department, did not happen.
My advice to all US consumers: considering PGT windows, think again: call their customer service first and learn about how they treat their customers, empty call-back promises.
"Best windows" with zero lifetime warranty and zero customer service.
