Within a few days of registering on Petsitter.com and paying their 23.00 a month fee, I was contacted by a man claiming to be self -employed and deaf. He alleged he ran his own business. He and his family were moving to my area in a little over a month.
He offered to pay me more than my 30.00 per hour rate. He sent a photo of a family on a hike in the woods and a picture of a big brownish/red dog,Danny. I asked him to send me an email once he arrived in town and we would arrange a meeting to discuss, hours, responsibilities and meet Danny his dog.
He replied right back asking for my full name, address and phone number. I didn't respond. The next day I receive an email from a self-employed deaf man with his own business moving to my area in alittle over a month. The email was cut and pasted with the exception of a different family photo and a different dog!
He offered to pay me more than my posted rate also. I reported this to petsitter.com and they asked me to send them the emails. I did. I was told I would hear back once an investigation was done. Three weeks later I reached out to petsitter, and the woman said yes indeed they were scamming me.
She warnd me to be careful! I said no thanks I just would like my money back. She said out policy states no refunds. I went to my bank and had them blocked from my cc and will get my initial 23.00 back.
