I made an agreement with TC at Pento Auto to purchase a 2007 BMW. We agreed upon $7000.
I was told by TC to come back the following day to pick up the car. TC told me that he was going to put car on lift and make sure everything works.
TC also originally told me that he had been "personally" driving this BMW for several weeks. TC then said- not more than a minute later- that the BMW had "just" arrived and therefore Pento Auto had not had the chance to check it over.
We agreed that I would come back the next day to get the car. I live very far away and I told TC this several times. I was assured that the car would be ready the following day mid-afternoon.
I spoke with TC the following morning at 10:40 and TC said that he could no longer charge me $7000 but intead the price was now $7500 ($5.00 OVER the list price). I agreed since TC told me how great the car was. TC also told me that the BMW was being checked out at that very moment.
After driving HOURS back to Pento to get car, the shop was closed and locked up. The BMW was still parked in the same spot that is had been the previous day, and the scratches that TC said would be buffed out were still the exact same. The BMW clearly had not budged from the spot and certainly wasn't on the lift as TC claimed.
I was very angry for wasting hours of my time. TC didn't even have the decency to call me. Not only that, because I had chosen the BMW I had foregone other vehicles that I had been considering that, since I live so far away, I am unable to now purchase.
*On an end note- I found out that the BMW was actually NOT new to Pento but Pento Auto had the car listed for more than 70 days on their web site.
My wife and I recently bought a truck at Pento Auto of Bow, NH and I would like to share the story so no one else will be hurt or scammed in the purchase of a vehicle from this dealership as my wife and I have been.
We had borrowed our daughters car and with a cash down payment in hand we went in search of a truck. We went to Tim’s Truck Capital as well as many other dealerships that day. Once we got into Bow we ended up driving by Pento Auto and my wife commented that it was where our son TC Rearick worked as a salesman and we should stop and say hi.
We did indeed stop to say hi and my wife proceeded to tell our son we were out roaming the roads looking for a truck. He told me he had a 2005 Dodge Ram ¾ ton, 2 wheel drive truck. I looked at the truck, he said they wanted $8700 for it. I told him the truck wasn’t worth that kind of money with almost 100 thousand miles on it. He said he’d go see what he could do with the “numbers”. A short while later he came and told us the lowest he could get the truck for us was $5580.
We told him we would indeed be interested if the payments were no more than $300 monthly. He went off for a bit again and returned saying the best he could do was $364 a month. After discussing it for awhile and also after some verbal promises on TC’s part we decided to tighten our belts a bit and go forward.
That’s when things get crazy. We were told the loan company would be mailing us all this paperwork which we NEVER received. After contacting the finance company they agreed to mail us copies of the paperwork. Again we waited and nothing…Finally after back and forth phone calls we gave the company a fax number and asked the paperwork be faxed to us ASAP. Imagine our surprise when this paperwork finally comes through and we realize the price of the truck on this paperwork says sale price $9995!! With our $1,000 down payment that left the price as $8995 which was more than the initial asking price!
To top it all off, even though we had been assured the truck was well inspected etc and that the trucks front end issues had been resolved and new tires put on we find now that all they did was put tires on and nothing else.
Sadly this is a case of a mom that should have been able to trust her son (working in the capacity of a salesman for Pento Auto Sales) but turns out that son is nothing but a LIAR, a THIEF and nothing more than a SCAM ARTIST!!
We have been in constant contact with the finance company who now has their legal department involved and I have no choice but to set out for Bow Police Department next week because in reading all this paperwork we come to find that MY signature which my wife had asked about not being there initially suddenly is on the paperwork BUT it is definitely a forgery.
My hopes in sharing this story is to warn anyone about to do business with Pento Auto of Bow, NH and/or Scott Pento (owner operator) Sean Pento (owner operator) Tom TC Rearick (salesperson and employee of Pento Auto Sales) If you have already done business with them I highly suggest you carefully read over ALL your paperwork!
In case anyone is wondering. We also have never had any contact with the owners of this company. We have proven the forgery yet no contact from these people. If they are indeed an honest company why are they not trying to make things right?
