Then they have you sign a promise that you will forward your entire rebate, PLUS your energy tax credit to their company. THIS IS A RIPOFF. Why? Because one hours work and maybe $100 worth of insulation is not anywhere near worth roughly $600 in rebates from Questar Gas, plus anywhere from $70 to $120 from you energy tax credit.
Believe me, there is a cost to you and your community. You would be better of to seek a reputable contractor to add insulation to your attic. Pay them around $200-250 for the work and materials. Then apply for the Questar rebate and collect the rebate for yourself! Penguin Insulation's Rebate Program makes a killing for the company owner! It also drives up Questar Gas rates! It costs Questar and its customers far more than the 5% the insulation might save on your heating and cooling bills.
In addition, if there is any problem with you qualifying for the rebate or tax credit, they will come after YOU like the mafia. They will turn you in to a collection agency, damage your credit rating and even put a lien on your home!
Do yourself and the rest of us a favor. Avoid this company like the leech it is. Do not fall for their ripoff rebate program.
Wow, we were totally ripped off. Door to door salesman came to the door back in 2013. He told us that he could offer a service that we didn't want or need and it would be no cost to us. There would be a rebate sent to us that we would send to them as payment. We did this. Now 3 years later, out of the blue we received a letter from a collection agency demanding payment of 150.00.
I tried to call and talk to the company about this and the unethical behavior of the sales person. She was rude and said you can pay me now or deal with the collectors.
Do not use this company for any reason. I am warning you. I will be reporting this to the BBB also.
