Horrible heartless women! Do not ever give your dogs to her to rehome! Peanuts place small breed rescue is run by Colleen Sowers who is just a terrible human. We made a very quickly regrettable decision to surrender our dogs to be re homed. We had just had another baby and the one dog was acting out of control. We felt it was jealously and he needed more attention than we could give at the time. We thought this was best for them. It was the hardest decision I’ve had to make. But we quickly regretted it and contacted her to give them back. She said no even though we offered to pay all costs necessary. She was very nasty with every interaction and completely unprofessional. She told us the one dog had blood in his urine but hadn’t gotten him a vet appointment! Who knowS how long our poor babies will go untreated!
I made the very difficult decision of surrendering my pet due to my schedule, which has now been adjusted and was no longer an issue when I told Colleen I'd like to come pick up my dog. Surrendering him was a regrettable mistake. My dog is loved, was well cared for and in great health with a full medical history , which I gave to Colleen. When I told Colleen, over the phone, I'd like to retrieve my pet she said, aww he's already been adopted (last night). The same day, on her Facebook page, I could visibly see a photo of my dog that'd been posted about 6:40pm of the night he'd supposedly been adopted with a caption that read he'd been groomed and was awaiting dental and a foster home.
The following day, I could see, via Colleen's comments under my dogs photo, that Colleen was still accepting applications for him. Colleen lied to me and deleted my posts, looking for my pet of 6yrs and subsequently attempted to bully me into not trying to find my pet and shame me for surrendering him. All via text message. My dog does not need a new home, as he was not in danger or neglected. So why not allow me to retrieve him? I even offered to pay any expenses. Adopted or not, my dog is not gaining anything from being in a new home. He's actually losing here because the healthiest option for my dog or any dog is to remain in the home —where he feels safe, is comfortable and familiar.
Extremely unprofessional, insensitive and dishonest organization. Take your business elsewhere.
Horrible woman who doesn’t care and makes a profit off the pretty dogs to further her own agenda. DO not give her any animal or donate to her! She should be reported and shut down. She’s fake and not a legitimate rescue. She takes the money and doesn’t put it back into the animals that need medical care. She’s a fraud!
