Peak Communications Reviews

I got a phone call on my landline. Interestingly, the caller ID read my own phone number.

The person on the phone asked if I was between the ages of 18-84. I answered yes, and they proceeded to tell me that Frontier have partnered with Peak Communications to provide my long distance phone and that it will be $10 cheaper.

I was very skeptical, so I tell him that I don't want to ruin my bundle. He said it wouldn't effect my bundle. He keeps pushing back to all of my protests.

Finally, I tell him I would feel more comfortable if I ask Frontier first and if I could have his phone number and call him back after I talk to them. He hung up on me without responding. Obviously a scam.

We got a call one day from peak communications letting us know that they had taken over long distance service from centurylink, the company we have used for 17 years. They said they were obligated to call all centurylink customers to let them know about the change. Then the csr went on and on about how much cheaper their service was going to be for us, even though i told her a number of times that phone is there just for a dsl line and the phone was only used if cell service went down. I also told them long distance calls were blocked on that line and have been for 5 years. So, in the end, she said she needed voice confirmation about the change, we did it, and end of story, till today. My wife, the bill payer asked me why our phone bill went up so much when we don't use it. So i called centurylink and they basically told me i had been scammed. I have filed a complaint with the arkansas attorney general's office also.

I got an invoice from Peak Communications located in Jacksonville, Florida. The invoice states that I made a phone call using the Peak Communications network and these calls will not show up on my local telephone company bill. It says I should pay upon receipt.

I have never signed up for this company nor have any idea who they are. They are using my maiden name but have my parents phone number so the data is somewhat incorrect but the phone number is the one they still use. The invoice looks like its real and has a code on the check to send back. This account number at the bottom of the invoice is 12180003138800000637. The invoice says I made a call on 7/15/15 and 00:00am on the phone number and they are charging me a monthly fee of $5.95. After tax its $6.37. Although this is not a major amount, its from a company I have never heard of nor signed up with. If I had sent them my payment in form of check or credit card, they would have my information.

There is a number to call about billing inquiries 1-800-349-1923 but I refuse to call it after reading other reviews of people that found this to be a scam. Not interested in letting them know I received their fake invoice. There is a type code near the bottom that has 1:direct dialed, 2: third number billed, 3: calling card and 4:collect however none of those type codes are used on the form. In that space is a zero and a zero for how many minutes used.

I believe this to be a scam after everything I have read on the internet and finding the same information on this site with the same amount they claim I owe. How did these people find me? The thing is, had I not been young n savvy, I could see how a person could fall for this scam. The invoice looks so real. It even has the "fold here and return the above portion with your payment" area and since the amount is so tiny, anyone could think they might have been charged from their phone company without realizing its a scam.

Called regarding this they did not want to issue a cancelation also sent three emails didn't receive the service, refused to cae the charges. I found out they called my house about three months ago speaking with my daughter, not me at all. They took advantage of my poor daughter because the representitive on the phone said they were affiliated with Verizon (our landline provider) which they lied and so she was naive to go along with it. Firs of all the ironic thing is that they said they were long-distance provider when they charged me instead for using an operator which I never did. Not only are they deceptive to say the were affiliated with phone provider, they also said charged for a service which I never used. Also your customer service is really awful and rude.
