Aug. 25, I ordered a virus protection from Bitdefender.
I was having problem installing the program, so I called customer and explain what was happening. Customer lady transfered me to two techinal support. The two techs first names were Karen and James. I explained to them that I couldn't download the software onto my computer. Karen ran a scan on my computer and told me I had a worm and it wouldn't dowload the problem. Karan when on to tell me that the worm would have to be removed. For $249.99 he could remove the worm and download the program for me.
All along, I thought I was talking to a Bitdefender technican, eventhough this was the number given for customer sevice by Bidefender.
When I wrote Birdefender through email. Told me me they had no record of this transaction. I have all the paper work showing the price I paid and the price of the virus program. The techs put three progams on my computer one was cleaner, malware and Birdefender. Why did I need all three is my question.
I believe, I was ripped off by customer service. All along believing this was Bitdefender techs.
These are the numbers I was given by the techs.. 1-888=220-1305 or 1-888-789-0102
I am 92 year old male. I have a Dell Laptop that I do my banking and contact with family. I had a problem with my computer and I updated my McAfee account and thenwas switched to this support team that claimed they were associated with McAfee. I was on the phone and computer for over 6 hours and was having difficulty understanding the technician. He had an accent and kept having repeat things regarding my computer. I gave him control and things went from bad to worse. My screen went blue and I finally told him it was not working. So he said there would be a $100.00 charge. I paid with my debit card. The payment showed on my bank statement then immediately wasnot on the statement. I called for a refund to find out they had not processed the debit card. Now they are saying I owe them $249.99. I had to have my computer fixed by another company.
Called what was supposed to be McAfee support, person said they were. Found out later they were not connect or subcontracted by McAfee. There service was poor the last attemt where I exhibited corruption problems to the agent they basically said "live with it" - a one year contract for PC support that was of no value..
I am partucarly frustrated becasue they represented themselfs as an agent of McAfee that they were not. In addition to the poor service
