My 16 year old daughter sings with her dad and sometimes people online want to buy a cd of them singing. I made a page to have a place people could click to buy, to make it easier than sending us a check in the mail. They said it would be $9 a month and a small fee for each sale. Then a little while later they started automatically taking out $30 a month instead of $9, and then we got a letter saying they were taking out $124 automatically out of our bank in two weeks, and we had no say in it. It was a previously undisclosed yearly fee.
I called them and said I wasn't interested and that's not what I had signed up for. They said too bad, if you don't want to do it, we will take out $425 from your account automatically and you can't stop us. Of course I don't want anything to do with them anymore, but I don't have $425 and don't want the withdrawal to bounce so I have to just keep paying this company for who knows how long. Maybe years after she goes away to college in 1 1/2 years and doesn't even live here anymore, and I will still have to keep paying these people long after noone is asking to buy a cd anymore.
