I walked into Payless Furniture / Mattress / Home Decor located at 4250 W. Broad St. Columbus, Ohio 43228 at which time I was helped by Matthew who ran my info and got me approved for a specific amount worth of Furniture & Furnishings I could Rent-To-Own with a specific amount of Cash Down Payment. I proceeded to tell him what I needed & what was not directly found right in the store was easily ordered and I was told that one of the items, (my lil girl's loft bed) was going to take 2 weeks to come, this is after he directly checked and ordered it along with the sectional that needed to be ordered. So the only thing I walked out with was 2 rugs and everything else was ordered and to be shipped together once the Loft Bed came in after the 2 weeks it was supposed to take. I paid my Down Payment and waited for the items to show. I heard absolutely nothing from anyone at Payless indicating any delays or problems with my order and once an entire month went by and nothing showed I began trying to locate my info online myself. Now I did get email confirmations of my rental agreement and I do have my paid reciept. However, when I registered and logged onto Payless website and the financial creditor to view my order and account, strangely both sites have absolutely nothing in my name, ss, or identifying information. I called several times and got the run around. So after calling again & again, Matthew decides to tell me on 6-6-17 that now there is supposed to be a problem and that the loft bed he checked and ordered back in April is supposed to be on Back order- now stating it will take even so much longer to get it. So I ask him is there any other loft beds there to chose from. He states he will send me an email with the other option(s). Well about 8 hours go by and no email, so I called him back he said he'll send it again and guess what? Again he does not send me the email. So I called again and he says this time he will text it to me. Well He lied again and did not text it to me. Now when I try to call him back the store is closed. So the following morning I call again and this time he did text it and the one they have now is a twin and very much more cheaper made and could be bought anywhere cheap and he tries to convince me that its actually more expenisive then the Full Sized Loft bed I ordered which is clearly better made and way better materials. C'mon now do I look stupid enough to fall for that? I believe he said this because I asked for ther price difference and wanted to know if there would be enough for me to get her a dresser or something to make up the difference. Thats how he responded. So after hearing how he wanted to rip me off with more money and give me something way cheaper I'm like- so how long are saying now its gonna take for my original order? He doesnt respond back at all so I call the place to speak with a manager. He (meaning Matthew) answers and now tells me he is the manager which I know is not true. So I say no your not let me speak with your manager. He tells me he has no district manager and only the store owner is above him. I tell him its not right for him to try and intercept my call to his manager but he continues to say "how can I help you". If he truly wanted to help me- he knows exactly what to do, but I personally think he pocketed the money I put down and keeps feeding me BS & refuses to give me the correct info to his manager & store owner or allow me to speak with them because he knows he just ripped me off. Even if thats not the case- theres no way it should ever take this long and why would he act like this? Never calling or anything to inform, telling me lie after lie, & now refusing to give me the truth about his manager and how to reach them. After hangin up he texted me statung "Beginning of July is what the Rep. Is telling me at this point". he is referring to the ridiculously delayed Full Sized Loft Bed ordered back in April for my lil girl which is in turn holding up all the rest of my furniture. This is UNACCEPTABLE! Instead of good customer service and offering me something better or making my delay worth waiting for- he actually tried to charge me more for something so cheap- GET REAL! This is definetly extremely suspicious behavior & there is absolutely NO reason in the world that 1 full size loft bed would ever take this long if he did indeed check & order it back in April. Checking it then would have told him if it was on back order, at which time it was not! Ordering it and paying the down payment also ensures that at least 1 full size loft bed of choice would have been there ready to ship to his store and confirmed by his checking before ordering. Funny they would have never contacted me if I didnt follow up. They let all this time go by like oh well. He clearly has no intentions on honoring the contract and his word. He goes so far as to even try to block my way to the manager/owner. You tell me...

In a situation like this whats a person to do? Im only left with the real option of filing a legal suite & possibly Theft by Deception &/or Breach of Contract. I honestly cannot believe he would even go this far but I cannot let someone take what little I have, give me false hope only to lie and lead me on and steal what little I have. I CANNOT LET THAT HAPPEN & WILL NOT! Good luck to anyone else finding themselves either in a contract with them or deciding on whether or not they should enter into a contract with them. On October 7, 2016, my husband and I went to Payless Furniture & Mattress Miamisburg to look for a sectional for our basement. We chose this particular store because we did not want to spend a tremendous amount of money. We found a sectional that we really wanted and the price ended up with tax & delivery $2499.26.

My husband filled out the paperwork for our financing through Synchroney Financial, which we have used before with other furniture companies.

We were told that delivery would be 7-10 business days.

On October 21, 2016, I gave Payless Furniture & Mattress a call to find out what the hold up was and the manager told me that the sectional was moving from warehouse to warehous. This sounded like a bunch of BS, but I told him that I better not receive a bill and he needs to call me ASAP when he can figure out the delivery date. The manager told me that he would call and that I would not receive a bill.

A few days later, I received a bill from Synchroney Financial and that we owed our first payment on November 09, 2016. I called back on Monday 10/24/2016 to tell them that I needed a date for delivery because now I have a bill. The manager pulled out of the air a date of some time the last week in October, but possibly no later than November 07, 2016. Not a for sure date just a date to get me to wait longer.

On October 25, 2016, I decided to make a trip back to the store to cancel the order. The manager refused to cancel my order and when I asked him for my receipt that he never gave me on 10/07/2016 he said no as well. I tried to get my receipt myself and after he pushed me with his big belly, I then decided to call the Miamisburg police. Three officers showed up to help me obtain my receipt. They never gave me the original receipt only an copy of the original.

Basically, I have a receipt, no furniture, and a bill for $2499.26. I have no idea if I will get the furniture either.

As of right now, I have filed a consumer complaint with the attorney general's office, I have filed a dispute with Synchroney Financial. Hopefully this can be resolved somehow. If the complaints and disputes don't help then I will file with Small Claims Court in Miamisburg Ohio.

My remedy for relief, would be to cancel this order and to never ever see or walk near this business ever again.
