On 06/01/2020, I reserved a parking spot near Newark Airport through a third party service online called Way.com to park at Park2Go for the dates of June 02 to June 17, 2020. They charged my credit card to reserve $105.29. When I arrived at the Park2Go parking lot on June 2nd, Anthony at the desk told me that they had no such reservation and that they did not do business with Way.com. I needed to be at Newark Airport to catch my United flight, which I ended up missing, due to this fiasco. Anthony told me that I had to get the refund with Way.com and I had to pay Park2Go at a much higher rate of $155.20, but they would park my car inside under cover at the outside rate. I called Way.com to tell them that Park2Go was not accepting the paid online receipt (attached) I had with Way.com of $105.29, and they insisted that Park2Go had to accept that as payment. I asked the manager to give me a printed copy of the email from Park2Go to Way.com that Park2Go was not one of their providers and he refused (which indicates it was a lie). In turn Park2Go forced me (bullied me in a threatening way) to give them my credit card and the key to my vehicle (a black BMW 328i) IF I wanted to leave it there. Or I could just leave. Unfortunately I did not have time to find another parking lot and so I left them with the key and still missed my flight. That parking lot is in an unsafe area and I was a woman traveling alone that day.
When I returned on June 17th, my car was parked in the same spot that I left it at and no one was in the office that could cancel the incorrect $155.20 charge, because Way.com was not answering their phones to cancel the original $105.29 charge that Park2Go claims they never received and that they are not even affiliated with Way.com. My BMW had a small ding in the rear driver door and the shuttle driver (there was no one in the office) said to call the next day to speak to Anthony the manager to reverse the charge of $155.20 AND come to an agreement to compensate me a little for the ding that occurred on their property. He advised me not to call the police to make a report, as the Elizabeth NJ police would not be allowed or would not be able to enter into the parking lot to make an accident report. I felt very uncomfortable and unsafe being alone in the empty parking lot (there were literally NO cars around) and it was clear that my car had never been parked in the safer indoor lot, as the owner had promised me on June 2nd.
I provided all the receipts and also the pictures when I called Bank of America to dispute the charges on June 18th and then received a rather nasty and threatening call from Park2Go saying that they will never pay for the ding on the BMW that occurred in front of their parking lot office, now that I was disputing their duplicate (and much higher) charge of $155.20 to the original $105.29 charge paid the day before to Way.com. The cost to repair the ding on my car is approximately $200 and they even refuse to pay me that either.
I should not be charged twice for parking in a lot where I negotiated a charge of $105.29 and then be bullied into paying another higher DUPLICATE charge of $155.20 because Park2Go “ claims to not do business with Way.com Yet Way.com claims that they do business all the time with Park2Go. In fact, they are still listed as a choice on the Way.com website if one was to book a parking lot near Newark Airport.
This unethical company is trying to double charge me and causing me great stress by bullying me into giving them my credit card for something I had ALREADY paid for. I am attaching pictures of the ding in the side of my car, the receipt from 06/01/20 that I paid $105.29 on a Mastercard for parking through Way.com that I showed to Park2Go and they refused to acknowledge and the receipt of $155.20 (unsigned and they just went ahead and billed my card) on June 2, 2020.
