Sadly i didnt heed the warnings and trust my instincts. During all my preop visits i heard people complaining they couldnt see. One lady was even hurling expletives in the office. At the end of the day Dr. Chynn is more businessman than he is physician and has a business degree from NYU to boot. He cuts corners and will save money at all costs. I would want him as my operations manager not as my eye surgeon. He markets himself as some cutting edge eye surgeon but he simply knows how to market his practice better than other eye surgeons who may actually be better physicians. I went through surgery with him and it has severely messed up my life. What makes me mad is deep down I know Dr. Chynn likely knows when someone is or isnt a good candidate but his need for more money will always trumph ethics and professionalism. I will likely have to find another doctor to correct my vision as I just dont trust him with my eyes anymore.
. Im pretty sure he must be able to perform surgeries with good outcomes and im sure it does happen however if you are not a good candidate for surgery(and that percentage is higher than you think) do not expect an honest opinion from Dr. Chynn. He will simply take your money and then when you life is screwed he will basically say "sucks for you" and then tell you to guess letters on the chart until you get it right and then speak to you like your an idiot. I know there are others like me that have been hurt and hopefully something can be done about this.
I had nothing but a positive experience here at Park Avenue and can assure you its not a scam, as I had the procedure done.
I was 20/50 and am now 20/10. My vision is crystal clear and i have no glares, blurriness, or halos. It did take a month to fully heal, but this is all stated ahead of time.
I would recommend doing this procedure if you want to have it done by the most qualified doctor!
I have serious doubts about trusting Park Avenue LASEK after a recent office meeting. This place seems to be a lot of hype and promises, but delivering disappointment. I agree with the negative reviews on YELP, this office is out for your money with a non-refundable 2nd opinion/appointment reservation fee of $500. An extra $300 if you want PreVue Lens. Miscommunications regarding procedure, scheduling, and fees abound. I asked about discounts and the 20/15 guarantee in 2015 - totally ignored. $3500 for one eye, $7000 for two eyes - way overpriced. I heard many patients voice their disappointment about their surgery at this office. LASEK is similar to PRK, you're probably better off going elsewhere and getting epi-LASIK by a more competent office. Don't believe me, simply sit in the waiting room office for an hour.
Was never informed that there would be a $500 2nd opinion fee or the costs of the procedure.
nice seeing you and your wife and ?son today richard, and glad it was a very productive visit
sorry mark put your chart and records someplace and we couldn't file them so we had to reprint, and sorry he "forgot" to tell you about the $500 second opinion fee, and that sergii forgot to collect it until after your visit
as i made sergii reiterate and hopefully he will remember, it is not a coincidence that our second opinion fee is the same price as our nonrefundable deposit to book your testing, as we actually credit the former towards the latter. so you have already effectively deposited for your testing day, which is what allowed me to put it in for tue july 5 at 3pm
pls reply to ALL if you wish to move that appt
as we mentioned, i would suggest a HD LASEK on your right dominant eye to get you to 20/20 for distance with both eyes open, and not lasering your left eye, as you're already 41 and this will help you not need readers until 50. if we lasered both eyes you would not see much better than 20/20 for distance, you'd need readers at 45, and it would be 2x as expensive
pls reply to ALL if you have any ?s
thanks and see you in july for your PreVue lens and procedure all within 2 days, since you're coming from pitt
too bad you won yesterday as that kept my jets out of the playoffs:(

Unethical worst decision of my life

LASEK was the best decision I ever made.
