Raymone King & Paramount Books Media is a Scammer!!!
An agent named Darren Matthew contacted me & insisted that Paramount Books Media is legitimate & interested in my Book & not a scammer. I told him that I already went through a scam with a Publisher. He guaranteed me that I can trust him. Both him & his company owner (also a Business Manager) Raymone King tried to process my credit card, but somehow it did not go through. That should me the sign for me to run away from them! Then, they asked me to write a check for $2,999.00. His wife/colleague Maine Mendoza who is supposed to be my Fulfillment Agent called me only once & never called back. Paramount did not do anything at all for me. I found out that Darren Matthew was let go & Maine Mendoza simply disappeared. I was able to contact Mr. King, but he told me he couldn't return my money despite the fact he did not do anything for me yet. He begged me to give him 2 days to make it right, & then simply hung up. Needless to say, I heard nothing back from him. I did do research about this company, but did not find anything bad about it. Hopefully by posting our mistakes here & other places on the Internet, others won't have to suffer at the hand of these individuals. I intend to file with the Better Business Bureau in California about Paramount Book Media & Mr. Raymone King. I pray that the Law will catch up with these scums of the earth soon!!! Peter Vu
My experience was about the same but i offered no money until I checked it out. Nothing good came from that venture. One time when I tried to call back, the phone number had been disconnected. Then he called back a month later. Same person. Then I asked for more details via email. There are no guarantees and it is really pricey. No mention was made of how much they would return for each book sold. Stay away from this "deal." Check the internet for more complaints about Paramount Books.
I am an author of 3 books. A gentleman named Chris called and said they are willing to partner with me in marketing my book. We agreed that my total marketing fee is $1,599.
I just discovered that they charged me 4 times that totals to $26,000. My bank already fixed this but how dare them to scam a 94 year old author. Authors Beware!
It was August 2018 when a guy named Allen Smith called me and offered to promote my book. He brought in Chris to confirm the offer and advised me to pay $ 2999.00. I paid and they advised me to stay in contact with Maine Mendoza. Allen and Maine were very helpful and made a lot of empty promises but did not do anything worthwhile. Three months down the road, Chris, Allen and Maine all disappeared and I had no one to contact there. I kept calling and eventually a lady called Anne Friedman answered the phone. She said she was working at Maine's office. I also kept calling Allen's extension and a man named Charles Smith answered the phone. I spoke to Charles once and to Anne a couple of times. Anne apologized for the delay and promised to resolve the issue. A month ago, the phone number for the company got disconnected. Now, whenever I call the voice mail says it is temporarily unavailable.
Recently, I went on line and found that the company has been under review. I may not know if I will be able to contact anyone in the near future. I will advise anyone who wants to do business with the company to stay away from these crooks.
An agent named Darren Matthew from Paramount Books Media called & told me they're interested in my book & want to market it for me. I researched & nothing bad about them on the Internet. I told him I was scammed once before from Tate Publisher (Mustang, Oklahoma). He assured me that we'll walk together. I had to pay upfront. Their PayPal service did not take my credit card. That should be the sign for me to walk away!
I then signed a check in the amount of $2,999.00. They took a photo of my check & note & sent it to me, but did not produce any receipt. I insisted to have a receipt. The owner & Business Manager Raymone King finally sent me a receipt after a month of my nagging. After signing the contract saying if there is no service for 3 months, either party can back out of the contract & the customer will get his/her refund in full. His wife/colleague Maine Mendoza called me only once & never contacted me again. Paramount did not do anything for me, not even an email to explain about which service they would do for me.
After 3 months, I contacted Darren Matthew who informed me that he was no longer with Paramount. He regretted that he would lead me on like that, but his apology was too late. I was able to contact Raymone King who told me to give him 2 days to make it right & simply hung up on me. Needless to say, he never called me back or made it right for me.
Paramount Books Media & all these individuals should not get approval from the State of California to do anything. Perhaps, jail would be the suitable place for them to work. If I have had some info on how bad this company is, I would make the right decision & not go with them. I hope my report will get the Better Business Bureau in California to invetigate & shut down Paramount Books Media & prosecute Raymone King & their associates to the extent of the law. Also, I pray that my report will be a good warning for all customers to stay away from Raymone King, Pramount Books Media, & its associates. I also ask you to help get my money back if possible. Thank you.
An agent by the name of Joseph Neil contacted me with the offer to promote the sales of my book with digital and book ffair events. Contact with the agent and company gradually faded over the time period and eventually stopped completely. I have tried contacting the company for my refund but to no avail. The guarantee of the sale of 500 books is in contract form. The cost to me was $500. I am unable top make connection with the company or the agent.
