I made a reservation, through homeaway, with PIRentals, to rent a condo for the weekend. This reservation took place on Friday and was for the next weekend. The following Tuesday, just three days after making the reservation, I was informed that there was a death in my family and that I would no longer be able to make the reservation. I immediately contacted PIRentals to explain the situation so that I could get a refund or at least a credit to use at a later date. Their response was that they could do nothing, unless the condo was rebooked for the time that my reservation was for, because I did not have travel insurance on the trip. This was in an online chat with a customer service representative. Today, Wednesday, I called to specifically talk to a manager, whom I hoped would show some compassion for my situation. The manager, Matthew, would do absolutely nothing to help remedy the situaiton. No refund, no credit, not even a partial refund. I will never do business with this again as they are compassionless and show no interest in retaining customers.
