Owls Books Reviews

This does not rise to the level of an actual rip-off, but I’ve seen other complaints about Pro Quo Books is a seller I’d like to share my experience.

I typically order books via free shipping, which usually takes 3 to 5 days. Because I needed a book as a birthday present, I paid Pro Quo Books about $5.99 extra to ship via DHL. I failed to notice the “fine print,” which said delivery was guaranteed only within 18 days—which, from Indiana to Massachusetts, seems excessive. When my book didn’t arrive after a few days and the tracking software showed no progress, I called the DHL number provided. DHL told me on the phone that Pro Quo Books had not yet delivered the package to them. The birthday party came and went, and after a week, the book arrived. I asked Pro Quo Books for a refund of the shipping fee—not the cost of the book. They said no.

I ordered a book for cheep from them all the sites they oporate off of like Barns & Noble, Amazon and Alibris give them good peer reviews but the star raiting is full of nonssense because I've been wating long past the delivery date, and I've found I'm not the only one to voice a complaint on here.
