I bought a car from Owl Automotive group from a referral who said that this dealer was honest... So I went to purchased a car from them. I test drove 3 cars(all of which made crazy engine noises, or shook so bad when you hot speeds of 50... I was gong to just go some where else if they thought the cars they were selling were in great condition. Steve the owner called me said he just picked up a dodge Durango from greenway dodge in Orlando fl. This truck was in mint condition he told me NOTHING wrong with it.. He had it tested and will last me a long time... Gave him the deposit. IM like WOW this truck is in mint condition.. from all appearances it looked brand new! for a 2004 with only 94,000 miles... RIGHT?.... WRONG!! as soon as I drove it literally right across the street to fill it with gas.... yes they didn't even put gas in it for me!! it was almost on E... so i gas up.. start the truck.... ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH TURNED ON! I'm like WHAT? I drove back across the street the them.. They said Oh you must have put gas in the truck right?.. Of course I did...I was told I must not have put the gas cap on right... I have been driving for over 40 years.. I think i know how to put a gas cap back on... So anyway they hook this computer reset thing on and reset the lights.. Great... I'm off to my weekend adventure in my new truck.... Heading down the highway.. truck starts to cut on and off like it is going to stale out on me... Then no more dash board... lights back on and no speedometer... great... Monday comes because they are not open on the weekends for the mechanic... Told me to bring my truck in... reset the computer thing again... two days later again lights again... I was told to just disconnect the battery if it happens again...
So for about 2 more weeks, every other day, I keep doing the battery thing... Finally I said I was getting tired of not having a dash board and that he can take the truck back... He said he didn't have to fix anything cuz it was a buy here place.... WOW! but after a few more convos.. Steve told me to bring it back in and his mechanic will look at and fix it... His mechanic didn't fix it right the first 8 times I brought it back why would I trust he would fix it right the 9th time... long story short.. I did bring it back in... I got excuse after excuses where my truck was and me renting cars to get around even though im paying for a truck I cant use...I got it back...3 weeks later... another month goes by... AGAIN no dash board.. bring it back AGAIN... Mechanic tell me he has to have time to look at the hundreds of codes to see which ones need fixing...(this time I record our stupid convo) He told me , when I picked it back up again that he fixed the problem, which was a loose wire that was not connected.. So that fixed the issue.. I was like" aren't you the one who fixed the truck last month?" He said no... greenway dodge replaced the part and they didn't connect this loose wire... so he did... IM like WOW... how can a reputable dealer not connect an important wire for my computer things? I left it alone.. at this point im so freaken frustrated with this whole no dashboard crap... I was told it is ok to run my truck cuz this will not effect it driving... I down loaded an app so at least I can see how fast I am going.. this whole no dash board issue happened all within a year of having this Durango.
So on June 4th as I am taking things out of the truck to put in my storage unit... I see smoke coming out of the hood of the truck... I back it out real quick from the storage units so they dont catch fire and then lift the hood and find the engine on fire!
Now this is the scary part... The dealer greenway dodge apparently told Steve the own of owl auto group that the module need to be change alone with a harness because you cant program the module with out it... she Steve told them to just disconnect the module(hence the loose wire his mechanic reconnected) and refused to replace it correctly... the module shorted out from over heating and caught fire!!! SCAM GUY DIDT WANT TO FIX THINFS CORRECTLY!! so he left me in danger cuz he's a liar cheap skate and didn't care that I could have had a major disaster if I was going down the highway and had my grand babies in my truck!! DO NOT BUY ANY VEHICLES FROM OWL AUTOMOTIVE!! HE DOESNT CARE WHAT HE SELLS! IM TAKING THIS CASE TO AN ATTORNY NOW!
Called my insurance Geico to have them tow it and file a fire claim on the truck... After they investigated the fire they determined that it was a know issue that was refused to be fix the right way that caused the fire therefore it is not covered... Steve tried to tell me I refused to fix it...I took my plate off the truck... and now I just bought a brand new 2017 Nissan!! Told Steve the liar to come get his truck and pay Dodge for the service fees.. He can have his truck back.. SEE YOU IN COURT!
